Type of a scam Online Purchase
I saw a great deal on Facebook on October 17, 2020 that was promoting muck boots at 70% off for a Fall Special, to which I proceeded to purchase 3 pairs of muck boots from, it seemed legit to me, all their information upon ordering looked as it normally would making an online purchase. The company was "The Original Muck Boot Company". I got an email confirming my purchase of 3 muck boots for the correct amounts from this email: service4: [email protected] They sent me a tracking number, and I went to the website for the tracking number and it all seemed legit to me (although coming from China), I continued to watch the tracker until it said that my purchase had been delivered on Nov 17, 2020. I went to my mailbox to pick up and found this cheap necklace in my mailbox. The package had the correct tracking number on it to match the email I had received. After I received the package I started googling things, and found that The Original Muck Boot company had posted the following statement on October 19, 2020:
The Original Muck Boot Company

In one of the comments under this post, I saw someone post that the website they noticed was: www.muckebootcompany.com I did not notice this myself. I have since contacted my bank to issue a dispute and contacted the email address from which the tracking number came from to have them respond with this email:
We are legal company.
Could you tell us what happened?
We would like to help you solve the problem.
Waiting for your reply.
I have responded to this email with a request for more company information (company name, address and phone number) and a full refund of my monies spent as I have yet to receive the merchandise as advertised. Looking back over the information now, I see several red flags that I should have recognized this as a scam, but I am not a very savvy online shopper – don’t do it very often, so it escaped my full attention until the necklace showed up in the mail.
