P.O. Box 826
Fortson, GA 31808
Dear Sir or Madam:
My company has received an extraordinary number of calls from OneVanilla customers since about June, 2020 and to date.
It is our understanding from those who are contacting us, they have used your online service to check on the status of gift cards purchased from national merchants. They are asked to provide additional information in the form of their credit cards and have received unauthorized charges on their credit card or gift card from a company named “Athenas Communication”.
The company falsely billing these consumers apparently has a name similar to my business and it is being reported to us that your team is directing them to call our company. My company is Athena Communications and we are based in Wisconsin and we do not use gift cards or facilitate any online transactions with consumers.
Consumers find my company website and are often distressed and agitated by these unauthorized transactions. And rightfully so. They are being harmed by a company connected to you and it is your responsibility to identify and address this breach in security or criminal activity. I have contacted your company by phone and was met with a cancelled call when I asked to speak with a manager.
We are hereby issuing a note to cease your policy of directly your consumers to contact my company to resolve these matters and urge you to get to the bottom of these egregious and criminal transactions that are harming your consumers. Continuing to direct them to a company that is not responsible for their financial harm is irresponsible, unethical and likely criminal. I abhor you to cease so that we don’t employ legal action.
We appreciate your timely commitment to addressing these issues.
