I received a call at the business that I own that my utilities were going to be cut off immediately and that I needed to call the number above to resolve the situation. The first person I spoke with said I should have received notification by mail that my bank drafts would not be processed because of MLGW going green and the system would not be working properly during that time. After I protested and said that all my payments had cleared the bank and when I look at the MLGW website it did not show that I was past due he transferred me to a supervisor who would be able to stop the cut-off. All I had to do was take $1,900 to the location that he said for me to go to and then I would not be cut-off. After an investigation, I would receive a refund of my money by certified funds if in fact I had paid my utilities. I realized it was a scam when they told me I would have to go to a specific location to pay – not just any MLGW office. They had me on hold and I told my husband I thought it was a scam and they hung up.
