Black Friday Wendi Partida email matches exactly to the emails above. It seems her daughter’s wedding and her work schedule are keeping her REALLY BUSY. It sounds like her daughter has gotten married several times already. I have noticed on Craigs List everything I price over 400 gets scammed. SO SAD…

So I just recently received the same messages and went through the whole process. I don’t understand what their motive is. To get the furniture for free or the laugh of someone try to deposit a fake check?

I recently just had “Wendi” come to me interested in a Nintendo Switch I had listed on Craigslist. Myself being fairly new and this being my first sale on the site was unaware of this being a scam. They too sent me the emails listed above verbatim and confirmed my listing price with an additional $50 for a holding fee considering they had said they were out of town. Myself being inexperienced, decided to send the information because I was unaware of these scams, and waited days for any response. They had recently contacted me about sending the check through fedex and getting confirmation it would be delivered in the morning. I got the check which was issued for $2,600 under my name and with that being the nail in the coffin, I contacted the bank it was issued from to get any information and to report suspicious activity, confirmed that the check had been fraudulent given the information I provided. I emailed them back stating that reports had been made to the bank they had issued from and to cease any contact with me nor will I continue ang business with them. Please pass this along to anyone you may know that is trying to sell on CL and to avoid this buyer! Report them if encountered as I feel they target newer accounts or those inexperienced and stay safe!

Put an item on Craigslist and this “person” said they will take it, added $50 to the price, and wanted to send a cashiers check but needed all my personal data. Bogus! Do not ever accept a cashiers check to be sent to you in advance of getting an item.

I received the exact same message. It seemed dodgy but since I didn’t have any other buyers, I stuck with it in case it was real. Then today, I received what seems like a real check, valued at $2500, from a business in Birmingham, AL, for an item that was listed at $450. I was told that the overage was to pay the person who was going to deliver the item, as well as a few others from nearby, to “Wendi”. After I told the first person that I was no longer interested in participating, I got a text from “Thomas”, her husband, from the 305 area code, which is Miami. I’ve let “him” know that I am aware that this is a scam and that they should cease any further communication.

I also got the same exact email from her. She’s definitely gonna get a piece of my mind. I’m gonna email her back and play along with her scam just to mess with her head. People are so ridiculously pathetic. Get a life or better yet get a job and tip scamming people for a living.

I got the exact same email from Wendi Partida after posting an item on Craigslist. I initially received an email asking about the condition & once I replied I received an email from Wendi the next day from a different email address. I also got a text wanting to send me a verification code which I did not do.

Same email was sent to me as well

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I received this email via an item I listed for sale on Craigslist. Upon a quick google search to see if this was legitimate, I found others had also posted this is false and will result in a fake money order. Beware!

  1. Received the exact same email in response to a Craig List listing. Three things stood out to me, first was the the quickness of the response to my listing for a couch, second red flag was their offer, site unseen an additional $50.00, third was in their request for information for sending the cashiers check, looking for an address to send to and specifying no PO BOX. I’m not done with her yet, I may tell her that I only accept cash or a postal money order. We’ll see where that goes.

  2. guys, there’s a new Identity of Wendi that needs some attention:
    [email protected]
The same thing, initial bait is fb/cl post, then Wendi responds and asks to respond to ‘[email protected]’ since they do not check cl mail – probably too busy for that with their upcoming wedding. After that, you receive an email from [email protected] with well-known story and ask to provide details for a check
