The Delaware Mineralogical Society is a registered 501(c)3 membership organization who hosts an annual show every year. We solely control the host hotel room block for our member and dealer attendees and share that with our members and dealers through emails. However, Otrix Hotel Booking has somehow gotten ahold of our contact list and is sending them fraudulent emails regarding “Delaware Mineralogical Society 2020 – September 14, 2020 – Delaware Museum of Natural History, Wilmington, DE, USA. The hotel block is now open.” The date they have listed is NOT the date of our event. One of the hotels they mention is our host hotel, and if someone were not reading too closely, they could be coerced into thinking this was our actual room block. This is not only fraudulent and dishonest, but it is detrimental to our Society, our name and our event. We are obligated to fill our hotel block and this scam could cause undue harm to both our members and our Association. I expect Otrix to cease and desist their fraudulent email scam immediately.

The American Farrier’s Association is a registered 501(c)3 membership organization who hosts an annual convention every year. We solely control the host hotel room block for our member and guest attendees, and share that with our members through emails, social media and our website. However, Otrix Hotel Booking has somehow gotten ahold of our contact and guest list (and those who have already booked) and is sending them fraudulent emails regarding "The American Ferrier’s Association hotel room block is now open." They are even specifically mentioning the convention center and the dates of our event. None of the hotels they mention are our host hotel, and if someone were not reading too closely, they could be coerced into thinking this was our actual room block. This is not only fraudulent and dishonest, but it is detrimental to our Association, our name and our event. We are obligated to fill our hotel block and this scam could cause undue harm to both our members and our Association. I expect Otrix to cease and desist their fraudulent email scam immediately.
