Type of a scam Online Purchase

Looking to purchase Cavalier King Charles puppy. Saw website selling cavalier puppies for good price. Filled out personal informational sheet and requested info on puppy named "Bella." Received e-mail from Gilbert Reece stating Bella was available. We were sent a "contract" and was told that the cost would be $650 and that micro-chipped would be $40 extra. I wrote back and said that the write-up stated that she would be micro-chipped, but he said that that would be extra. He stated that the flight would be included, however the delivery to our home would cost $50. He wanted a Walmart money transfer for the total before she could be shipped. First he wanted the name of Damian Reece as receiver then changed the name to Foley Dirane. Once the money was received, Gilbert sent an e-mail saying Bella would be shipped on Tuesday. Tuesday morning we received a call from Edward Portman at Eastern Animal Express, 1 Richard Byrd Terminal Dr, Richmond, Va stating that the send put Bella in a crate that was not state approved. He sent us a form with 3 prices of crates that were temperature controlled. Two were Non-refundable of $890(rental) and $990 (purchase.) The third of $1290 was covered by their insurance and refundable, but hat to be returned to the agent upon delivery. We were to Walmart Wire Transfer the money to Collins Gangu at the airport terminal. After speaking to Ria at a Walmart referral line who suggested that we not send any more money, my husband called Edward Portman and told him that the cost of the crate had to be resolved by him and Gilbert. Andy left a message with Gilbert by phone and e-mail. We never heard from them again.
