I contacted Diamond kittens through their website and asked if one of their kittens was still available. The next day I received a text from an individual claiming to be the breeder. They sent pictures and info on the kitten and reluctantly made the purchase using Zelle which they recommended. Seeing as the app was attached through my banks app I figured I would be protected against fraud and that it was as I viewed an insured risk. I was not aware of zelles policies and the inability to recoup funds lost to frauds such as this. After the purchase I received a bill of sale and was told the shipper would be contacting the next day. I received an email stating my cat couldn’t be shipped unless I paid a refundable insurance policy that cost $925. I contacted the breeder and insisted they pay for this as it was not agreed upon when they charged me $135 for shipping. They said they didn’t have the money to cover it and I should have realized at this point I was being scammed. Unfortunately trusting my bank and this app that was integrated into my banks app I thought well I’m protected so if this doesn’t work it will be ok. I paid the refundable insurance policy and received shipping info. They said the cat had been shipped and would arrive that same day. It had a connecting flight and then I received another email stating because of weather conditions I needed to buy or rent a special case for the second flight. I knew at this point it was a scam and contacted the breeder. They told me they would try and get money together through friends and family to pay for this so I didn’t have to. I requested my money back and contacted the shipper and requested my refundable deposit back. After several back and forth text and phone conversations the seller and shipper both went silent. I have contacted my banks fraud department and the FBI cyber crime unit and logged complaints detailing this company and the transactions made. Do not under any circumstance use this website or send money via Zelle, there is almost no fraud protection and almost no way to get your money back.
