Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

Looking for extra work to help pay bills a friend said he seen ads on facebook saying advertise on your car for money, so i sent in my information saying I was interested in advertising on my vehicle. Shortly after i got an email about where to send the check and thanks for the interest and what address to send the installer. I started questioning myself the minute they said to deposit check and pay the installer from it. Never talked to a live person and no inquires on what my vehicle looked like, it all just didn’t seem professional. I went online and seen an article about the Dr. Pepper 500 dollars a week scam and decided not to deposit the check. The last text message from the individual was did i get the check and two days prior to that was it is on its way and did i get it. I said no. I still have it in it’s envelope i am not even going to open it.
