In Nov. 2019, I purchased round trip tickets from Chicago to France. I got ticket confirmation for ECONOMY class as I am traveling with my family and I need to guarantee that my family including 3 children will be seated together. When I logged into my United account, it showed the reservation was booked under BASIC ECONOMY! I have made several inquiries with HOP2, calls and emails, and they keep stating that I am not in ECONOMY and they cannot guarantee our seats being together. After numerous emails back and forth,I was finally able to get it confirmed by HOP2 that I do ECONOMY and they also requested assigned seats together. As my itinerary with United was still showing unassigned with BASIC ECONOMY, I kept going back to HOP2 and they kept confirming that United just needs to update their systems. Many weeks later, I followed up again and they response I finally got back was that they cannot assign my seats and that I need to pay for the seat purchase. With ECONOMY my family should be seated together! I demand that they upgrade or at least secure our seats and they were very unhelpful and kept shuffling me around from one representative to another. This is False Advertisement! HOP2 sent me a fraudulent ticket confirmation showing a class that the airline does not agree to.
