Total money lost $300

Type of a scam Online Purchase

The website (https://lakeviewpugs.com) seemed legitimate and I was sent a detailed email by "Alexis" when I inquired about one of the Pug puppies. They required a downpayment (which is standard), but required payment through zelle. I was provided with an address for the business, which showed up on a map, but otherwise I couldn’t tell since it was out of state. I made the initial $300 down payment, and then the excuses started when it came time to arrange for pick up. "Alexis" offered to ship the dog (for an additional fee of course) but I pretty much had figured out it was a scam at this point. Additional names and email accounts associated with this scam and web site include: Alexis; [email protected]; [email protected]; Runey Agyenim; Zenabu Mohammed. The names and emails were associated with zelle payments….Alexis was the main point of contact. Obvious advice: see the puppy and place of business first and don’t purchase online!

They have a website advertising Pug puppies at a low cost and free shipping. You email them to arrange this. I was suspicious when they emailed back based on the very limited information they would provide and the free shipping – because it’s expensive to ship an animal. I looked them up and found they were likely a scam. I asked how I could know they were a legitimate operation and they replied “If you Trust yourself then you will know we are real”. Which is a dumb reply. If you were legitimate you would provide proof, like an address, offer to face time, an AKC license etc. it’s a fake site and they are profiting from people who think they can purchase a dog. I stopped before losing any money.
