I called La Verne garage door to request an estimate for a new garage door opener because my opener was throwing a breaker when it opened. The tech came and told me that my garage door opener was worn out and needed to be replaced. He advised verbally that my new opener would be a Lift Master wifi enabled mid range opener. He quoted me $*** for replacement. He was in the right price area so I said ok.

After partial installation, the tech advised me that he had forgotten to advise that the Labor would be an additional $259.00 bringing the total to $***. I advised that would not do, he got angry and I felt vulnerable…I am older and live alone…so I told him ok. After installation, he advised that the price was now $710.00. Again I told him I was unhappy, again he got very angry. I had looked up the opener by its stock number, Lift Master advertised it as a non-wifi enabled bottom of the line opener for the price of $129.00 on their website. Meanwhile the tech had taken the box with warranty paperwork etc and advised me I could not have it, that his company would provide warranty info in a separate phone text.

I checked with Amazon prime for the opener and installation price ($***). I paid him $*** on visa and wrote a check for $*** then stopped my check. I had a friend check the opener, he said it is obviously pre-owned and the metal part of the body is dented. The opener is working ok. None of his paperwork had the business name on it, he wrote in "Fix N Go" on the top of my "receipt" which is un-readable. I have not heard from him regarding my stopped check.
