Type of a scam Online Purchase
Website listed Doberman Pinscher puppies for sale. I contacted owner through website regarding puppy named Blade. She emailed me details about the puppy along with additional pictures of the puppy and after a few email exchanges I agreed to purchase the puppy which she would ship to me. The next morning the shipping co.(Speed Point Carriers) contacted me stating they wouldn’t ship the puppy unless I paid to upgrade his kennel to a Thermal Electronic Crate which cost between $1000.00-$2000.00. When I started to question the guy about this he became demanding and forceful. I immediately emailed and texted the breeder who responded with "the crate change was due to Corona Virus & increased protection protocols from the health department and that I should just pay it as it would be refunded once the puppy was delivered to me." I knew at this point it was a scam and I quickly researched the carrier and found several scam complaints . I then emailed & texted the breeder that I was uncomfortable with the shipping company and asked her to get the puppy back from the courier company and I would drive to Oklahoma to pick him up from her. From that point on it was complete silence from her. She wouldn’t return my texts or emails. The $750 in American Express Gift Cards I paid her, she used to pay Pink Orchid Consulting, LLC and Air Drop Angels in Derry, NH. Online searches revealed Air Drop Angels was also a puppy scamming business. Before I agreed to purchase the puppy I researched Lindsey and didn’t find anything suspicious other than there was nothing about her, which I guess should have suspect enough. Our bank doesn’t support the money transfer app she used. Zelle, which is why I agreed to her suggestion of using American Express gift cards. In hindsight, yes, she was pushing me to move quickly on purchasing the puppy, and yes the entire deal seemed too good.
