Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
I was informed by a representative that I won $350,000 but needed to pay a fee of $3,500 for tax purposes. He told me to call the sweepstates directly as they were the third party representing the sweepstates company and he provided me with a pin number. When I told him I had no money, he stated that he was going to see who could sponsor me? SCAM no one is going to give $3,500 to someone they don’t know. In any case I told him to find someone in his company to sponsor me as I had no money nor was willing to pay upfront for any money I won. Until this day, the company Luminous Sweepstakes has not contact me again. As I did my own research on how Sweepstakes work, no sweepstakes should ever ask you for money upfront before you even receive your price. According to the IRS at the end of the year you will receive a 1040 form to fillout and pay the taxes on what you won.
