Type of a scam Government Grant

Received by Facebook Messenger, a message from my sister in law, telling me about a grant that gave money to those who are starting a business, retired, old, disabled, undeserved… I responded saying that I did not need any money from a grant. Message came back to contact the phone number to talk to a federal agent. The message sounds strange, and not like my sister in law. I googled the name and found the news item. Then called my sister in law to verify it was not her. She denied doing this, and has since re-evaluated her facebook profile. I did not send money, and am notifying my facebook friends of the scam. Facebook should do a search for this ‘grant’ name and deleted it from their system.

Ebay gift cards, Hacked on Facebook, using many names from my friend list, imposing as them .and gaining my trust. Then asking for a small amount of money, in my case $200.00 , … This is a new scam, and face book is guilty, no real security , and the use of many names… This came to me a a new friend request. I accepted and was hacked.

I got an IM from my Facebook friend saying she was helped by Forever Living Assistance in PA and I should text them at 267-495-8341. I texted. I think a guy named Brant texted me back. He had a picture of my driver’s license. He knew my mother’s maiden name and that i was retired. He showed me a paper that I’d been approved for a $60,000 grant. He asked for a $1000 filing fee. He asked if I wanted to pay w/cash or a card. I said I don’t have it, delete it, forget it. Several times he asked if I could pay part of it as he would try to help me out. Then I got a text from my friend who asked if I got my money. I said no. She said she got $90,000 for her cancer treatments. I said I’m calling BBB.

Contacted by Caroline muller This is suppose to help poverty or in need people she asked for address and phone number. Then offered me certain amounts of money but I had to pay for it. That’s not a grant .told her I had no money she then asked for bank account or credit card I said I did not have either. . I told her I thought this was a scam she adamantly said it was legit. She even gave me her phone number. This is thru facebook. She also gave me ticket number serial number and registration numbers. This is all I know
