Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
We responded to an email for a secret shopper position. It was supposedly sent from my daughter’s college financial aid office. We were sent a check and told to deposit it. They then followed up by numerous phone calls asking if we got the check. They emailed instructions to deposit the check and make withdrawals for certain amounts as payment for a secret shopper type of position. Since the check was over $3000, we knew it had to be a scam.
