Type of a scam Online Purchase
I was searching for an extra camera for a discontinued baby monitor model. This website came up in the search and I started to purchase it. I put in my credit card number and a page came up asking for details about the card including last for digits of my SS#. It said it was a free service to create password for whenever my card was used on line. I skipped the screen because this seemed suspicious, but it didn’t look like the purchase was completed. I used a different card and the screen still came up. I put in information so I could complete the purchase. When I then looked at the account information it provided, it looked like I had bought the camera three times. I called the number listed for customer service and then found it was a number of another company and they said it was a fraudulent website. I immediately called both credit card numbers and cancelled my cards. I am still concerned regarding all the information I provided.

I did an online search for a particular car seat for my daughter. Pegas Baby had the lowest price (not by much) so I went to their website and placed an order for the car seat. When I hadn’t heard any type of follow up from them in over 2 weeks I sent them an email to the address listed on the site. My email provider sent it back with an error message stating the address couldn’t be found. I then called the phone number listed on the website only to be informed that the number belonged to another company and that they have had other instances of people calling for Pegas Baby. Shortly after, my bank began contacting me about suspicious activity on my account to which I had to get a new card, cancel the old and an investigation is currently in process. I am currently out approximately $600, I expect that to be returned after the investigation is complete but have currently lost those funds.
