Victor and David smith of Publishers Clearing House. Claiming award winner and advance cash to the state of Idaho to claim your prize. I actually went to bank after they said I would not have to give them any money only a receipt. Very convincing until they want you to go to Walmart to do a wire to wire transfer.

My wife received a call this morning stating that she was chosen to receive a prize award from Publishers Clearing House in the amount of $5.5 million. She has never entered their contest. The caller (who spoke with an accent) gave us his name and phone number. We were very skeptical, but the caller was very persistent even after we said we would decline to participate in the offer. Then he said we would also receive a bonus of $7,000 per month for the rest of our lives and a Mercedes Benz auto. We again declined the offer and ended the call. Then we received a call from his supervisor asking us to accept the award. After almost an hour we again declined the offer and ended the call. They had our correct name and address, but no other information.

After Thanksgiving 2020, someone named Dean Winter called saying he was calling from Publishers Clearing House. I know they do not call potential winners. He even said something about me shopping at Walmart, which I rarely do, and said something about me writing him a check for about a hundred and twenty something dollars. I missed the other two calls and voicemails. Thank God.

So this guy portraying to be Dave Sayer called stating I won a new car from a Mercedes dealership and 1.2 million from Publishers clearing house. He wanted me to pay $500 in processing fees and he would bring my new car and check to my home. He knew the address. As I gave him the runaround he continue to get aggravated and he offered to meet me at my bank to get the $500 when I told him my bank is not in town he suggested I get a debit card from Walmart. When I refused to do so he became more and more agitated. I confronted him about him being a scam and he got angry and kept calling even though I told him do not call my house again he repeatedly called six or seven times in a row. I’m really worried because he had personal information that no one should’ve had. I called my local sheriffs department and I contacted the dealership. I told him to email me some type of proof that I was a winner and he emailed me a bunch of junk that looked homemade but using someone else’s passport as identification. If you would like to call me I have that saved and I will be glad to help you catch these people. I really do hope that you guys can put a stop to these clowns portraying to be something they’re not. People work hard for their money and it should not be stolen by thieves with broken promises. I’m just thankful they called me instead of some elderly woman that did not know better. ************  if you have any questions

A male identifying himself as David Goodman from Publisher’s Clearing House called Saturday morning 8.26.2020 at 10:30. He told me I had won the PCH sweepstakes prize of 3.5 million dollars plus a 2020 Mercedes-Benz (pearl white). Prizes would be delivered to me either privately or if I chose, publicly with balloons and announcer on camera at 3:30 Saturday afternoon. [ I chose the publicity with balloons, lots of balloons. ]

Caller then informed me I would have to pay the taxes on my winnings before prizes could be awarded. He stated on that amount, taxes would be about $10,000 to $20,000. Caller told me to go to my bank and open a new account into which my winnings could be deposited in order for taxes to be withdrawn. He gave me a code number and a 4 digit PIN and told me to keep all of this to myself and not to tell anyone about it.

I told caller I would have to go to bank which closes at noon on Saturdays and it would take at least an hour to do that. Caller said " Go ahead and do that, I’ll stay on the line until you return." I told the caller "no, you call me back in an hour." He agreed and I hung up.

Seven minutes later, David Goodman called again and asked if I had opened the new account yet. I just told him no, the bank was closed and it would not be open until Monday. Caller then told me he had to work on Sunday and he would check back with me then. I said that would be fine and we hung up.

No call on Sunday.

10:00 Monday morning, David Goodman called again and asked if I had opened the new account yet. I told him no because I needed a ride to bank. Caller called back 3 times after that but we did not answer.

a man calls my aging father, sometimes claiming to be Bob, claiming that my father has won a cash prize from publishers clearinghouse. he tells him he needs to go to Wells Fargo Bank and send him $400 for him to deliver the prize. the last time my father fell for it, and the scammer managed to obtain my fathers bank account number and filched $2000 from his account.

the bank helped my father block the caller and changed their account, then notified publishers clearinghouse. the police were notified, as well as publishers clearing house, who obviously denied that they need to be paid to deliver a cash prize. that ended the calls for a while, though my father never recovered his money.

Now the man is calling again. we are concerned that my aged father is going to give away an account number. this time the scammer is calling from a number 876-512-5813, again claiming that my father won a prize and needs to send money so that he can bring my father his prize.

Phone call was at 11:46 on July 28. ID of call was Out of Area. The man identified himself as Dave Fyers, and he had a heavy accent. He gave a phone number of 716-630-9198. My 81 year old husband has faithfully sent in the multiple Publishers Clearing House envelopes for years. He received this call telling him he was won 2 million dollars. I only noticed the call because I heard him arguing with the caller. The man told him in order to receive his money he had to send $878.00 and then the prize money would be released. My husband said he would only believe he had won if he was sent a letter. The caller insisted over and over his call was approved by the BBB. I’m amazed my husband stayed on the line with the caller as long as he did. He only hung up once I found out who was calling. I am worried someone more vulnerable will be conned into sending the money.

I’m filling this report out for my grandma who doesn’t use computers / email. She received a scam phone call stating that she won the Publishers Clearinghouse. The man had my grandma’s name, address and phone number. He stated that she supposedly subscribed over 5 years ago and was recently chosen as a winner. It was suggested that she come up with a password / code so that nobody else could accept these winnings. My grandma persistantly told the man that she thought it was a scam and he reassured her that it wasn’t. My grandma even told the man that her friend was scammed using a similar strategy in which the man continued to reassure her it was legitimate. One tactic that the man used was to build personal rapport through compliments. The man also wanted my grandma to purchase a $50 VISA gift card at Walmart, CVS or Walgreens. My granparents were supposed to purchase the gift card and would be exchanged for the first payment on the winnings. The man stated his name was Patrick Willson (702) 356-3930 – also offered the name of Charlene Wilson if you needed any questions.

He did not give an address where to send the money at that time, said he would tell when the money was ready to send.

On July 18th; he texted again with the instructions; send cash or cashiers check to Thomas Maurice Edah; 10111 Bissonnet Street; Apt 268; Houston, TX 77036. Said to be sure to take a picture of the cash, or the cashier check receipt & text to him before mailing. 5-15-19. Short version of what happened: Had phone call to return call regarding a UPS package for delivery. Finally returned call after getting 3 calls. Call was from a "Rev. James Reed". He "swore by God" this was for real. He asked if I had heard of Publishers Clearing House. Then stated I had won $3.5 million, a 2019 Mercedes, and $250,000 payment for life, tax free. (I never said yes). I again asked who he was and he then said that all over the United Sates people were winning from the American Senior Citizen group contest. He had my name, address, and phone number as verification. I continued to question giving vague answers. Finally he said all I had to do was present my "claim card". When I asked how to provide that he said all I had to do was send him a money order to verify my identity and release the claim. At this point I hung up.

It started with a phone call from a Dave Sawyer (heavy accent) explaining how much I had won. He wanted an email address to send me the information on the prize of $8.8M plus a Mercedes sedan. They showed a check from bank of America in that amount and a Pic of a guy holding a big check with myt name on it. There was also an "itemization" if the winnings with a breakout for IRS Processing fee of $984. They needed that amount in a cashiers check sent to someone in Tucson before the payment could be released. I bit. They also had the names of the presenters and a GM for verification. I then received an "IRS" letter with my name misspelled and strange wording needing another $2600 for state and income taxes. That was the red flag for me. I bid them a nasty good bye.

The man gave me his name and ask me to repeat it back to him which I did not. He then asked me to repeat some of the initial information he gave me and I told him that I couldn’t remember. He asked me to write numbers down on a piece of paper. He have me an ID #, a ticket #, a Bar code #, confirmation #, Ref #. Once I had written everything down he asked me to read everything back to him so he could record it for the BBB, Bank of America and someone else that I cannot recall. I told him that I was having problems hearing him and would like to call him right back. He gave me his phone # 571-216-8836 and said his name was Andy Golderg. I called him back and he answered so I know it is a legitimate phone number although he did not answer with a company name but it was his voice. He wanted me to repeat the numbers back to him and I again said that I was having phone issues and asked if he would send me the information and I would get it notarized and sent back. I asked him if he had my address and he said yes. I asked him to repeat it to me so that I made sure that it went to the proper address. He said our name was place into a raffle type drawing because we shopped at Walmart, Pub. Clearing House etc. Our name was submitted by Walmart along with 200,000 other names. He also said "this call is being monitored by the BBB." He said check with the BBB and call him back and then gave us a call back code. We don’t know if this is real or a scam of some type. Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

I received a phone call from phone number 876-528-1819. They claimed that I had won $2.7 million and a 2019 Range Rover. They claimed the prize was sponsored by Bank of America. In order to redeem my prize, I needed to go to Walmart and send $695.89 via a Walmart-to-Walmart transfer to Shenika Williams. After I sent the money, I would need to call them back and provide my receipt number in order to set up the instructions to obtain my prize. When I asked why I needed to send the money, they stated that the winner was required to pay .1% of the winnings and that this was the only way to receive the prize. They claimed that they were from Publisher’s Clearing House and that I was one of 3 winners they had choose that month. If I did not claim my prize, it would go to the Unclaimed Prize Department.

Last week I received a phone call from a different number claiming that I had won $2.5 million and a 2019 Mercedes Benz. When I asked if the two winnings were affiliated, I was told no.

I spoke with Mr. Donald Johnson and he transferred me to his secretary, Eileen Moskavitch. Eileen claimed to be based in Las Vegas, but I could hear a foreign language in the background. When I asked her why I heard a foreign language, she said that our lines must have gotten crossed. When I told Eileen that I needed to go, she insisted that I send the money as quickly as possible so that I could have access to the money.

I called them back to tell them I had confirmed with the ScamPulse.com that it was a scam. They were insistent that they were legitimate and that I should claim my prize as quickly as possible. After speaking with BBB, I know this is not a legitimate opportunity and I am submitting this report hoping that no one falls victim to their persuasive tactics.

After speaking with BBB, I actually received a follow up phone call from Eileen. She wanted to know if I had a chance to go to Walmart to pay the taxes for the prize money. I told her that I did not want to move forward because when you win something, you should not have pay money for it. I told her that I hoped she realized what she was doing was scamming people and that she got into a more legitimate line of business.

I got a money order at the post office and sent it to Frank Dixon. He told me to send payment to Frank Dixon because he handled that. Then I was told I needed to send $1000 to get a stamp put on the check because of Ohio Law. I mailed the money order to Maryland. After a few days I received another call that I needed to send $1700. He had asked that I pay by American Express. But I told him that my limit was only $200. David gave me a routing number (272481567) for account 000026882254920 to give American Express to pay off the bill. I called American Express to check if my card was paid off. They told me no, the routing number was not legal. They sent me a later explaining the payment was rejected: unable to locate account.

"David Rosenberg" called and stated that he was the Executive Director of the Southwest PCH Office. He stated that I had won $6.8 million, a $25,000 bonus and a 2018 Jeep Cherokee. He stated the Brinks Armored Service and top executives from PCH would be arriving at my house at 2:30 pm CST with my prizes. Of course, he wanted to confirm my name and address, so I asked him what name and address he had on file. He confirmed my name and where I lived, but NO physical address. After giving me a confirmation number and Brinks tracking number, he stated that I had to pay the taxes for the vehicle. I asked if I had to pay over the phone and he said "No, that would be illegal". He went on saying that I could wire him the money via my bank or Wal-Mart. He asked me to send the money ($725) to "Olando Nicholson" in Appleton Wisconsin. Once I had completed the transaction, I was to call 205-315-4305 to confirm I sent the money.

This evening (9/23/16) I received a call from Publishers Clearing House in Washington DC saying I had won $2.5 million which would be delivered next week by Bobby Smith ID # 5509, PCH manager Edna Wright ID#3602, FBI agents Dave Brown and David Anderson. All I had to do is send a $299 certified check from Walmart Western Union to Shion Smikle, attorney for PCH in Jamaica, Jamaica. Mark Myers from PCH in Washington DC made the call to me from phone number – 876-359-8017. Needless to say — I did not run to Walmart. The $299 was suppose to be my portion of the taxes for the IRS —- PCH would pay the remaining taxes. I told Mr. Myers that I would have to call my attorney and accountant which I couldn’t do until Monday, and the ScamPulse.com before I sent money. He told me the ScamPulse.com number to call is: 876-512-1127……I didn’t call —- the whole thing seemed like a scam and I didn’t fall for it but felt someone should know calls like this one are being made. PCH should know also.
