I was called first by a Jeyden Martinez with an ID number of 1724 at 4:50 PM on Thursday, September 14th, 2017. He was supposedly a power support technician from VA Dominion Power, and called from their Virginia phone number (866-366-4357). He said that I had an overdue bill for two months now and would cut off my power in the next 40 minutes if he did not hear from the billing department that the bill had been paid. He then told me to call 1-800-610-4150 and dial "101" to be transferred to the Billing Department. I called that number and two people I talked to had broken English. They also did not answer the phone as Virginia Dominion Power. I was suspicious…I was also suspicious that when transferred from one person to another the operator said the "Google Subscriber is…" When I spoke with someone they told me that the only way to send the money in my area was at 4238 Wilson Blvd at the CVS. They mentioned that was an "Express Center" and that I could send the check to them that way and rest assured I would not have my power cut off. I told them I had paid my bills on time and that my bank account, Dominion Power online account, and all emails indicated that I was 100% paid in full on time and there was absolutely no reason to cut my power off but if they had to, I would deal with it until I spoke with someone from VA Dominion Power (by this time after 5 pm which is closing time). They asked me to confirm my zip code and I told them. It seemed they were confused thinking I was a business. I told them I was an individual; however, I have a yoga business also out of my home so they may have found out through my business number my cell phone. That was the only information I gave them, which means they may now have my credit card number…We said our goodbyes and that was done.
