We received 11 calls on 02-24-21 and 10 on 02-25-21. It is a recording from Olivia saying she is with Apple Support and our account has been compromised and to dial number 1 to speak to a representative. The first few I just hung up on but when it continued so many times a day, I dialed 1. A man came on the line and I asked if he would take this number off of their list because we had no Apple products in the house. He said that someone had stolen our identity and he would need access to our computer to fix the problem. I told him there was no computer in the house either and was no reason for them to keep calling us. He hung up on me. The calls continued so I pushed 1 again and got someone else. I asked them to remove our number from their calling list because we had no Apple products or computer and he said okay. BUT, the calls kept coming. I pushed 1 one more time and got the same guy that hung up on me. He did it again. I know this is a scam and not Apple.

Over the course of the past 2 days, I have received more than 30 phone calls from various phone numbers sometimes as frequent as every 5-10 minutes. A recorded message (female electronic voice) states "we have noticed your Apple I-pod (sounds like saying I-crod) account has been breeched; before using any apple devices press "1" to connect to Apple Support Advisor or press "2" to listen to this message again or if you’d like to contact us later, call us at our toll free number **************.

I have listed all the numbers that have shown up on my caller ID above in the "Scammer Phone" section. It is a different number each time. Usually, the name on the caller ID is "unavailable", however, on a few occasions, names have been associated with the numbers.

I do not own any Apple products. I have not answered any of these calls and do not intend to, so I do not know if you are eventually asked to give any personal information or money.

They would call vmevery 13 minutes exactly for hours at a time from slightly different phone numbers each time so you cannot block the calls. If you answer it is a robot woman voice saying there is fraud activity in your Apple cloud account. I do not have and never have had an apple account of any kind. If you reject call or it goes to voice-mail the robot message still plays without realizing it is voice-mail. It asks for your Apple password to be entered.

Type of a scam Tech Support

On October 31, 2020, I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Apple and that my cloud had been jeopardized. I was then transferred to a man who said he was Kevin ********* from Apple. I panicked because all my stuff is on the cloud. Kevin is the one who requested I go to Walmart, Walgreens, SAM’s, and Target and purchase gift cards, which I did. I spent $14,500 on gift cards. I took pictures and sent them to him and he downloaded them. He had me go to an app called Team Viewer Quick Support and then he had me download the Cashapp. He also got into my Citibank account which I have since had flagged. I received a notice from Cashapp the card had been unlinked from my account. I have deleted both of those apps. On November 1st, my daughter came to my house and realized it was a scam. I was able to get the money back that was taken from my bank account.

Though this scammer claims to be Apple, I know that they are not. This scammer starts the call with an automated message that indicates that my ICloud or Apple account has been breached and to speak with technical support to have any issues resolved. They give me the option to be directly put in touch with a representative or to call back at my convenience (includes the phone number I listed in the scammer info).

When I continue to a representative and say anything in regards to: "I do not have an Apple account" or "Please remove me from your call list", they immediately hang up.

Since yesterday (11/10/2020), I receive this same automated phone call roughly every 10-15 minutes, totally in the ballpark of 50 times in the last 2 days. Every time they call, the phone number is different (so I cannot just block them). The phone numbers always start with 610-409-XXXX. I believe they are using software to "fake" the phone number because one time it listed a number that was actually owned by a legitimate business (a construction company based in PA).

When I do get in touch with a representative, I can hear lots of background noise that indicate the person is in a noisy call center with many other representatives (I can faintly hear other conversations in the call center). The representatives include both men and woman, and always have has an eastern accent (possibly Indian).

9.8.2020 Received a recorded call from 504.259-3612 (Jordan Ricouard) advising me that my Apple account information had been compromised. The message went on to state other things that I was at risk for. Aside from the obvious tip-off — I don’t own an Apple product, what I found really interesting about this call is that the voice being used sounded legitimate and was familiar as the "recorded" voice we often hear with legitimate businesses. This recording sounded like they had spliced words and phrases together to put together the recording. If you didn’t really listen, you would press one at the end as requested.

I called 805-318-7375 which was on the google website as Apple Support. I was needing tech assistance with a recent purchase of airpods. "John" told me he needed to verify my purchase and who I was to get the correct support. He ask me to verify my name, address, phone number and email. He then ask me to verify the last 4 digits of the card used for the purchase. I did. As I was talking to him, I received a notification from my CashApp account that $1000 had just been removed and sent to a "Cherry Bates". I ask "John" if this was his verification and he said, "Yes." I told him that was my college money and that I needed it to pay tuition fees and he said, "Go to Kroger to get a $200 ebate card and he’d refund my account the $1000 but I would not get the $200 back. I called my mom with him on the line and his name changed to "Mark" when she started questioning him and told him she was calling the bank, police and getting an attorney. This comes up as a message blocker saying that it’s a warning that your computer has been infected from a list of the following reasons, pirated software, something downloaded etc. They tell you not to exit the message but to call 1-884-517-0777 which is presented as an apple tech support number ( maybe if you don’t have a Mac it would come up as something else). They tell you that your computer is locked until you call the number. This is not true you can close the message easily which you should do. The message is in strong colours like green, red and blue and is not in Apple’s style. They want you to accept them into your computer. I did not do this – I asked for another number to verify who they are which the guy gave me and it was clearly not a tech support company. Once I hung up on them – a couple of minutes later I got a call back from them and I just hung up. Do not call the number.

Received a call from a woman who stated she got a popup from "Apple" on her Ipad that said she needed to contact them immediately because she had been doing illegal activity. She called the number on the popup and they told her she needed to buy Google Play gift cards and send the codes to "Apple". They threatened her stating that if she didn’t do this that they would throw her in jail and tell the world she’s engaging in illegal activity. When I asked her how many gift cards she purchased she only stated she’s out $33, 000.

I received a scam call claiming to be from Apple Support. I had just been at the Apple store the day before. The caller asked me a lot of questions regarding how many pieces of Apple equipment I had.. They gave me phone number 1-800 My Apple. He talked to me about security keys for my computer. He asked me how many printers and TV’s I have. He said I needed Apple Security cards. I said I was going to go to the Apple Store. They asked me what was the closest Apple Store. I would by the security cards and Apple would refund me. He asked if If I live by Giant Eagle. I replied yes. He said I could get a Google card $300. I give them the numbers so that I can get Apple Security cards for my computer. I did not any cards. I had my wife listen also. She said no way. At first I was talking to a girl. Then she gave the phone to a Supervisor. He is the one that told me to get the cards. I gave my name address phone number and E mail. He already knew my address. He hung up. I did not send any money. They also gave me an Apple case ID number 300009311756. I did call the Apple store and reported it. They told me I was being hacked.

I received an email from [email protected] saying my AppleID was locked because they detected sign-in from and unknown device and unusual activitiy from my account. There was a link to verify my account: https://appleid.apple.com. The link wanted my social securitiy number and my debit card information, along with other information. I thought it was odd that it wanted my social security number. No phone number was provided with the email. This is the confusing part to me – I googled apple support number. The first number I found was 844-320-8222. When I called they said I needed to purchase a $100 Itunes giftcard and that it would be refunded to me when I gave them the ID code off the back of the card. They claimed they needed the code for security purposes. My local store was out of $100 Itunes cards. I got the ok from the man to purchase to $50 Itunes cards. When I gave him the codes he told me that they were stuck in the server and that I need to go buy more. He transferred me to a women in the billing department. She wanted me to spend $300 in cards and was rude to me and hung up. I called the man back and he told me to call the following day and the issue with the cards being stuck in the server would be resolved. The next day my number was blocked from being able to call. I googled another number for Apple support and came up with 888-706-6644. I received the same people as the day prior and was told that they needed a $100 gift card because the security was different than the $50 gift cards. He told me that their backup server is Google and that a $100 google play card would be accepted. They took that number from me and said that these codes were already redeemed and that I need to go to a Wal-Mart representative to have them "activated". When I was at the customer service counter there was another Wal-Mart customer who over heard me and told me he’d lost $900 to the same scam. When I called them again they wanted me to get a Steam giftcard. I told them I knew they were a scam and that I was reporting them to BBB, they would not refund my money.

Last month I received an email from Apple.com (be sure to click on the email address to see where it is really from) stating that I had made an $80 in-ap purchase to a game that wasn’t downloaded on my phone. It appeared exactly like the Apple.com emails and since I had checked the email address I clicked on the small link at the bottom for customer support. The link took me to Apple.com where I logged in with my Apple ID. That’s when my phone locked it’s self and removed my authority rights on my phone. I called Apple and they were able to watch my phone screen as I showed them the email, which they confirmed came from an Apple server, and they were able to fix everything after a few days. Turns out someone was watching me put in my information via the link I had clicked in the email. They then added my phone to their family plan and took away my admin rights. I still get alerts that the same person is still trying to login with my ID and old password but everything is good as new.

He instructed me to go to Walgreen’s and purchase a $15 Apple card and give him the code from the back, which I did. He then told me I needed to call the offending scammer who was using my account card. He also instructed me to purchase an additional $25 Apple card. I was emailed a "Thank You For Your Purchase" from what seemed to be the apple store stating that I had purchased $100 dollars in iTune’s. When I googled the Apple Customer Service number the scammers number was the first result on google. I called the number and they pretended to be the apple customer service department. They told me that my Apple ID had been compromised and that they could help me get my Apple ID back. I was told I need to go to my nearest location that I can purchase iTune $100 gift cards and purchase 2 of them and with the codes I would be able to get my ID back. They reassured me that 100% of my money would be given back to me once we had regained access to my Apple ID. The store that I purchased the iTunes did not have $100 cards so I was told that I could purchase $50 Dollar cards. Once I gave them the codes they said that the codes were not working and that it indeed needed to be $100 cards. So I purchased again at a different location this went on until I ended up with $1200 worth of iTune Cards. Later on they said that now that the iTunes had been varified that Apple and Google Play had a partnership and to finalize the reinstatement I need to purchase 2 sets of $500 Google play cards. They reassured me time again and again that all my money would be returned to me and they would compensate me for all my trouble. I ended up purchasing $1,500 on Google Play cards. The final transaction was at Target when I went to purchase the last set of $500 Google Play cards because there had been an issue with the other codes and they said that if I couldn’t find the $500 Google Play cards I can purchase a Target gift card for $1000 and they could convert the code into Google Play card codes. In Total I was scammed out of $3900. I was able to recover $200 from my credit card company once I reported the scam but, my checking bank WellsFargo opened a claim for me for the total of $3700 and closed a few days later because they said there is nothing they can do about it. I also called all to the gift card companies (Apple iTunes, Google Play, Target) and they all said that they cannot do anything because all of the codes have been emptied out and gave me case #’s too. I contacted the Apple Corporate and reported this scam with them too as it impacts their security because the scammers were able to put their phone number on google before theirs and I received a case # from them too, but there is nothing they can do to help me out.

He claimed he could help locate my lost iPhone if I would first buy the $100 apple card. I called this number by looking on google for a phone number for Apple. I called Verizon to see if Apple charged $100 to help locate a lost phone and they told me that it was a scam and gave me the correct number for Apple. The person called me back when I didn’t call back with an ITunes card number and I let him know that I found out he was a scam. He told me that it wasn’t a scam that he would reimburse my $100. I told him not to call again that I had already been helped by Apple at no charge and I wasn’t giving him $100. He called back two more times. Once I didn’t answer and the last time I again told him that I wasn’t falling for his scam and not to call again.

Called claiming Apple icloud account was compromised. Then claimed that he had my Apple ID and phone number available. But then asked for my phone my name and phone number. Hung up in my face, when I call back they said that my device has been compromised, and that they didn’t have any of my Apple information available. When I asked for a call back number they said there was no call back number. I confronted this lie because I had called back the number that just called me!

This one looked almost lehit.

I got an email that looked like it was from Apple saying my Apple ID had been used for some unauthorized purchase on Chrome. but I haven’t used an Apple ID in years because 4 years ago somebody DID steal my identity – mostly through my Apple ID and I lost everything.

So I’m suspicious. I looked very carefully at the website and instead of "signin -page" it said "singin page".

They emailed me saying they were apple fraud and used an invoice and link that looked like the real thing. None of the other links worked on the page and all it wanted was my information. I gave them all of it just trying to figure out why they said my account was locked and if I had been hacked.

On Friday, August 4, 2017 at approximately 3:00 PM, I got a notice on my Apple iPhone that I had been hacked. This came on Safari and I couldn’t close out of it until I called 800-240-8051. When I called, a Shawn Michaels informed me he was with Apple Security, and that they were working to investigate the scam and to protect me from having my identity stolen. Although I was skeptical at first, he finally convinced me that he was legitimate. He said that they were investigating 14 such hacks in my area. Since Apple is such a huge world-wide company, its policy is to protect anyone who was getting hacked–they take it very seriously, etc. Because of the trouble I was having, Apple was going to send me a cashier’s check for $1900. However, since it is Apple’s policy never to ask for a customer’s bank information, I was to purchase iTunes cards that would be reimbursed to me (added to the $1900 check). So, stupid

me purchased iTunes gift cards to cover the cost of future protection. Some of the cards I purchased were not in the correct denomination, so I had to buy others to substitute for them. He stayed on the line while I went to Walgreen’s and CVS to purchase them. I gave him the security numbers on the back of each card. Of course, these cards are non-refundable, but Shawn assured me that Apple would reimburse me for them. In all I spent $1300 on these cards and paid for them with my bank debit card. Shawn told me that a cashier’s check in that amount would be delivered to my house the next day after 12:00 PM, and that I must be home to sign for it, so I gave him my address. After all this information was exchanged, Shawn told me that he would call back in 15 minutes to verify everything and assure me that I was safe. Of course, he never called back, and at that point I knew I was a victim of his scam. Now I feel so stupid and embarrassed. I’m really not sure what I should do now. Shawn was probably calling from across the world somewhere, but I did notice that Houston appeared on my phone at some point. Shawn spoke with a foreign accent, but had excellent English skills.

Twice this morning, I received calls on my answering machine that seemed to begin mid-stream but mentioned Apple support (which is amusing because I do not have any Apple products). I was instructed to call 844-293-7061 to talk with a Support Advisor. I figured it was a scam, so I did not pick up the phone. Then, I wrote down the phone number and looked it up on-line. That is when I was directed to this site.

Because I did not answer the phone, I cannot actually say I was "victimized" and can’t know (other than what I have read on line) whether or not the scammer was attempting to get money from me, so the questions below do not directly apply. However, because of the 844 prefix and the fact that I do not own Apple products, I have to assume this is a scam similar to the ones other people have suffered. Fortunately, I never pick up a call whose number I do not recognize; that’s why I have an answering machine.

I received a call today from 915-774-8020 stating they were Apple, Inc and we had problems on our computer and they needed access to fix it. My husband let them into our computer but would not give them any person information like credit card numbers. While he was on the phone with them we got three more calls from the same phone number.

Last night 8-2-17 4:30pm looking on Pinterest. Went into read a site a iOS alert came up with an apple logo behind it. (Logo didn’t look right). Call this number right away (will not come up on my phone land line). Was told some one from Nigeria or Japan is haking my iPad. Was told go to the closet dollar general, Walgreens, Costco, etc. to get apple gift card. I had one for $10.00. He tried but was not the right kind. (They are all the same). I was told to drive to the closest place to purchase a 100.00 apple gift card to fix my iPad. Went in Purchased it gave him number of card then Was directed to IT specialist that will help fix my problem. New guy said I had 5 hackers on my iPad. I was instructed to go back into store to purchase 5 more $100.00 apple cards so he could instruct me how to fix this problem. I hung up. They kept me on my cell phone for at least an hour told me not to hang up. Cost me $110.00. Only # that I can pull up on land line is 3-266-5013. Not sure what site I went onto for Pinterest.

Several ppl called and said there was an issue with my iTunes acct and we needed to resolve it. Gave me a code and I typed it in with in 3 days 1800$ was taken from my acct through various apps I don’t even have. iTunes did refund my money without hesitation but as I am screen swapping with the lady another 100$ charge went through, 3-4 seconds later it happened again! She was able to stop it and said my phone was cloned so we removed my debit card off my acct and apple issued me another IP address to head off the other one. Now I’m getting calls for health insurance and a student loan I don’t have.

Luckily I was not home, so messages were left on my answering machine. Looking on line, this phone number seems to have also been used in warnings about Microsoft security issues.

"Joe" w/Apple stated we had been selected to try out new Apple products that would be related to our business. Requested to speak w/doctor to have authority to send out. Advised the doctor is with patients. Very persistent for me to go interrupt and get doctor. Advised could give a message, "Joe" became very hesitant and gave a phone number and stated it was very urgent for the doctor to return his call.

A foreign male called and stated that my Apple ID was used by someone over seas. He then told me to go turn on my computer. At that point I told him that I am not giving him any information off of my computer and that this was a scam. He then hung up on me. They have called me a total of nine times today. On the line all you hear in the background are foreign males talking very loudly. The line was also full of static. This is a total SCAM and I would like to warn people of this!

Received today a call w/automated female voice saying it was Apple support and they had ID’d multiple suspicious attempts to access my iCloud account over last several days and that I should either call 844-467-8693 to speak to them to get it resolved or press 1 to speak w/ a service rep. I should have hung up but didn’t think fast enough for that. So, curious to see what was going on, as I thought Apple did NOT call but wasn’t sure, I pressed 1, and was connected to a man with possibly an ***/*** accent, mild, and a slightly stilted way of speaking (as if an AI program?). He repeated the concern, asked if my device (which one was I using? I said all, everything was Apple, and no, nothing had been out of my possession or borrowed by anyone else, etc, which he asked about. So i asked what should I do, and he said I should hook my phone to my laptop and he would start diagnosing the problem to resolve it. I was not about to do that. He said they were a certified Apple support company(? Word?) and I said I had no way of independently verifying who he was, he tried to talk over me but i insisted, and said I would call Apple to reach support that way. He nicely said i may well wind up with them as they were certified etc etc. he said I should not use the internet until I got the issue resolved. A friend texted me the Apple store number (*** ***, CT) and via them I got connected to Apple support who verified that NO Apple never called, yes they monitored for suspicious activity but they would send a "push notification" not a phone call. So at the end, no one was hacking me ( this time ??), I got help with iCloud issue of privacy, and then half hour later I got an email from a *** *** elected official warning his email subscribers about a different scam — and he included your ScamPulse.com scam tracker, which I had never known of before. Mr ***, I believe it was. So there you have it.

Official looking invoice from Apple. It is NOT from Apple. Uses your email address as Customer ID – same as Apple. BUT real Apple Invoices also have your Name, Address and Payment info on every real Apple invoice. The SCAMMERS DO NOT HAVE THIS INFO ON INVOICE.

The SCAMMERS want you to click a link by saying the following:

If you did not initiate this purchase, click the link below to get full refund.

To cancel the transaction and to confirm that you are the owner of the account: (This is a Fake Invoice, DO NOT CLICK)

The trigger for me to realize this was an erroneous email was the fact that there were many grammatical errors.

While visiting News 13.com our local news channel in section called ; On a Tankful and About Town things to do , a pop up virus scam took over my Apple i pad mini . It froze my internet and gave a number to call . The message states that you have to call the number to fix your ipad the number is 800 249 0316. It freezes your device and states your bank accounts pictures and private info is at stake.

When you call they know your name and try to get you to pay to remove virus . They say if your ipad is over a year old you have to pay $30.00 . I told them no thanks . I have the real number to apple tech support and i saw they dont match. I called the real number and it was a simple clear history and clear cookies in settings.

I got a pop up on my phone that Safari had been compromised and to call the number on the screen. I called them from a landline at the number and they said they were *** and that my phone had been compromised, that I needed to call them back when I could hook up to my laptop. I called them back on my landline and was on the phone for 1 hour with them. They hooked me up using "Logmeinresue". They wanted me to pay them $270.00 to repair my system. I new it sounded not right so I started asking questions. She didn’t like all the questions, became very rude and hung up.

I received an email with the content below, saying that things were bought on my iTunes account. (I don’t have an iTunes account.) I was to go to the email address given to obtain a refund. This is when I would probably be phished for my personal information. Note that iTunes is misspelled as itunnes in the link provided. How stupid do these scammers think we are? Also, the bill says it was to "Store Credit" so how could that mean a charge to anyone’s account. It doesn’t make sense. So, I did not fall for the scam.
