I get a lot of your business isn’t verified on google calls but I know it is so I typically don’t answer. First gentleman called from a NY area code asked for basic stuff why haven’t you answered and verified I said I did then he transferred me to Stephen at a 1800 number. This gentleman also sounded legit saying he was from google. Sent me a private verification code from a DC area code which raised second red flag. We got disconnected I began searching the numbers found complaints. He immediately called back from an Ohio area code first thing he asked was $99 one time and recurring fee to verify my google listing and get it off a hold which was untrue. He used recent updates I’ve made and public information from my google page to sound credible. He used the name Stephen at ext. 701. I called back and asked for the company name the woman stuttered and said um we do stuff for google maps etc. Stephen called back asking for the fee I laughed and said my account is not on hold it shows up from any computer and he hung up on me. Oh I also got a call from a Washington DC area at some point in all this mess also from them. Changing my passwords now just in case.

The call starts from machine telling “We have been trying to reach you numerous of time to discuss address verification at GoogleMyBusiness. Please, press 1 to speak with representative”. After pressing 1 nice lady will talk to you and discuss “key” words that needs to be added to you Google listing so you can attract more customer. She will ask questions about your business like: legal name, address, working hour, etc. Everything she can see on Google she will ask and pretend that she fill all the information. Then she helps to choose “key” words and tells about one time fee, that you can deduct from your taxes as expenses. Then you get transferred to senior marketing representative who asks you exactly the same questions as the First Lady did and then tell that only today and only for your business there is a discount and you need to pay only $175.95 to activate all the information that you provided. They also ask if COVID effected your business and all other stuff to “prove” their seriousness. After, they ask about name of the credit card you are going to use and what I did, is I said that I don’t know which card I am going to use to process this transaction. The person on the phone for frustrated and were treating me like [censored]ed. I explained, that we have different cards and names on cards that we use in our business to process or payments. He calmed down. When I told, that I cannot pay right now, because I am not the only legal owner of the business we was almost screaming at me. Then he started blaming me on “why you didn’t tell that earlier? Are you serious? Are we just wasting each other’s time?” Finally he started explaining me that I’d I will not pay right now, all the information that I provided is going to be lost and next time I would need to enter everything again. I agreed to do that next time and he hung up.

I googled "Google’s" customer service number, 800-266-2549. An Indian man answered. I gave him all of my persoal info becuase I thought I was calling Google. Then he said they were doing a survey, and wanted to know how my money was going. He said I could send people money, and keep $300. So, I changed all my passwords and account info. He called back, and asked for the new passwords, but I didn’t give it to him.

Called the above number to try and access my google business account. Ex partner in my business has the log in info and not responding to give me the info. So I called what I thought was Google Support and they requested I buy Google Play cards (in the amount of 600 total) to help with the account verification. After the purchase I wasn’t really given the help I needed. Terminated the call. Called me bank to cancel the $$ transactions but they couldn’t do it. When I called back to see what now happens with the Google Play cards, they said they needed 200 more in additional cards. I said that wasn’t going to happen and they said they wouldn’t be able to help with my account. Thinking this is not legit Google. So I’m reporting.

Got a call stating they were from Google and that I needed to verify and claim my business so I can keto my business out there on google. They wanted a 1 time fee of over $500.00 but then said I might be eligible for a discount. Like military, years of business, etc. etc. when I asked questions he was very rude about it and was very demanding that I pay him the money or my business would no longer be found on google. We went round and round for a while then when I said that I needed time to verify him and investigate he hung up.

Scammer calls your business phone claiming to be from Google.

Their phone number is usually spoofed but, it displayed once as 1-850-868-0323. They claim to be based in Florida.

They say your Google account has expired and needs to be re-verified.

They then ask questions related to your business (obtained from your Google web listing) and want to know if your business phone is a landline or cell.

The scammers then send a verification code to your cell phone and ask you to tell them the code number.

If you give them the code number, your phone number is then used to set up a bogus Google Voice account in their name.

Same as experience as many others have stated as complaints about them. Called saying they are directly affiliated with Google, but are NOT. I repeatedly asked them if they were directly from Google and they said they are. Represented himself has David Brown. They somehow had a Google verification code sent to me. I made the mistake of giving it to them. Once I searched the online while I was still on the phone, I confronted him about being a scam. He immediately hung up.

Business claims to be a Google 3rd party client support service that helps list SBOs on Google. Robocaller "Patrick" says "your Google listing may be in jeopardy and you need to verify the information in your listing. It will only take a moment of your time. Press 1 if you are the owner and Press 2 to be removed from their list".

It never gives an option of "I am not the owner, just an employee of the company" so the only option has ever been "2" or hang up on them. Either way, we seem to get about 10 calls per week on our various lines coming in (from various MN numbers all with the same message) whether or not we press 2 or hang up on them. It is a real pain having them call in on lines that customers are trying to get through to us for business on.

They said they were with Google and calling to update my business account information. So I was hesitant, but thinking "just don’t answer private business info". They asked to clarify business name (I did not answer phone with name), so I did, then they asked if I was the owner, and said my full name. I said "Yes" and they hung up. So is this related to the scams about getting people to say Yes on the phone?

They also used the names Ben Morgan (FedEx deliveryman) & Tina Whitman (receiver of the delivery fee). They said they were from Franklin, PA. Then they stated they were in LA. They stated that the FBI and INTERPOL is aware of this program and that I "should not be afraid" of the situation because it is "legitimate." He also stated that one day the board of Facebook and "Mr. Mark" knew about the program. They told me not to tell anyone. He initially said that I won $550,000, then it went up to $1M. They wanted me to send the money either via Fed-Ex, Western Union Store or Walmart MoneyGram. They sent me photos of Mark Zuckerberg in a conference room with members of the military "securing my and other people’s winnings." They sent me a photo of "my winnings" as well as photos of a Fed-Ex truck, and a Bank of America check "from Facebook" with my name on it and a list of "Facebook world lottery 2018 winnings," a winnings certificate for $500,000. The Rep. claimed to be with Google and they said they would text me a verification code and that is why I gave them my first and last name with my cell phone number. That is all the info I gave them and did not give them any financial or social security info at all. Now all they can do is try to scam me by calling my cell phone. I never received any verification code via text like they claimed they would send me. The Rep gave me their personal cell number 216-531-1439 The name of the Rep claiming to be with Google was Nicole Cage. I think it is a bogus name and it sounded like a foreign boiler room call center. The Rep. claimed to be with Google and said our listing was about to expire and needed to be updated. Upon reporting this to my supervisor, he said we are updated with Google and he too has received fake emails regarding Google listing. When I called them back it sounded very shady and they did not answer in a professional manner or identify themselves as being with Google. I am a receptionist at a business and have been receiving calls from "Google" for around 3 years. These calls are all robo-calls (not an actual human, just a recording) and the only way to communicate with them is by pressing "1" or "2" on your keypad. Since our phone lines are set up for a business, our keypads are disabled during incoming calls, so we are unable to respond in any way to these calls. We have reported these calls to Google (which says that they NEVER do robo-calling, so this is definitely a scam), have added all of our business lines to the national do-not-call list, and have reported to the BBB, but the calls still come in- sometimes SEVERAL times per day! Today, however, we were able to record a number and actually use a keypad to respond to their call. The number came up as 281-666-9325 and when I pressed "1" I was connected to an actual human! When they answered, I firmly told them that we have been receiving these calls for 3 years and that we are on the DNC list, so they SHOULD NOT be calling. The person promptly hung up on me, which further confirms our theory that these calls are all scams.
