I just received a call at 6:29 PM EST from a individual claiming to be with Master Card services saying he was going to lower my rates. He was able to pull up my statement information and now has the last four digits of my social security number. He was able to verify the first 4 digits of my card number. He called from 728-727-7061, I called it back and it was disconnected so I called the banks that were involved to cancel the card. He called himself Justin Reads and gave me an employee id of CS4002 and a confirmation number of 56324.
The pitch was that I was paying my credit card bill on time and had been paying more than what was the minimum payment for the card thus earning a lower rate to help pay the card off.
I called to cancel the card after realizing what was happened when I called the phone number back to verify. I hope this helps and feel free ask for any other information.
