Total money lost $1,300

Type of a scam Credit Repair/Debt Relief

I came across this company for student loan forgiveness in 2017 and signed up through their process. They ask for income info, and school tuition info. Then they asked for two large payments of about 600 to go toward forgiveness at a portion. Of the loan total. Then they tell you a monthly fee to pay a certain amount of times Til your loan is forgiven . If it wasn’t for the federal government reaching out to me directly in 2019, 2 years later, following up on why I haven’t been paying my loans I would probably still be paying them. I explained my situation to the Federal govt. and they stated the company goes under numerous names and are currently under investigation. I tried to call them to terminate my account but the guy refused to do so. I don’t think I’ll be getting any of that money back unfortunately.

Tony called me in regards to consolidating my student loans and fraudulently stated that they were from the board of education. After receiving a call from my first loan service and they informed me that this company lied and the money that they withdraw from my bank account was not going towards my student loans I had to notify the BBB.

Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan

This “company” called my personal home and solicited their services; stating that I qualified for loan forgiveness. They stated that I qualified for a specific program that would forgive a portion of my student loan debt. I received no literature or documents from this quasi company. I don’t usually fall for scams but they knew my social security number, the names of my lenders, and the specific amounts of my active student loans. This all started prior to April 2019. It was in April that they began their thievery; $249.33 on April 12, 2019, $249.33 on May 28, 2019, $249.34 on June 25, 2019, $39.00 on 6/26/19, 7/12/19, and 7/27/19. I contacted my financial institution, they are aware of this and are taking care of things on their end. This is a sin that these people take advantage of people who are struggling, especially those whom are disabled by the state. It’s a disgrace! It’s a good thing that I caught on to this before they did any more damage. Not a penny of the $826.00 they stole from me went to FedLoan Serving as they stated it would. I found this out when FedLoan Serving debited my account and I called them. They have no record on my account of dealings with these scam artists. The representative from FedLoan Servicing stated that “You have been scammed.” I tried to call National Student Loans to inquire about what they have done with my money and where it went. It was told to me that the person that can answer that question is “not in today”, yeah, right! I was to receive a call back from this individual the next day; yet no one phoned me. I called back a second time and informed them of this and I that wanted my questions answered. The representative from National Student Loans stated “ We have done as you asked, we cancelled your account.” She would not connect me with someone whom could answer my questions. National Student Loans and their staff are poor excuses for human beings. I detest being taken advantage of. No more! Students and loan holders, BEWARE of these crooks and do not fall victim to their lies. Money-hungry mongrels! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!

Got several identical (illegal, in violation of the Do Not Call registry) robocalls from "Laura Davidson… reference #770708" to discuss how "my" student loans are affected by all the recent changes. I have no student loans, and it’s just a scam to get indebted students to give this company control of their money, charge usurious fees for services, etc. After several calls, I call them back an equivalent number of times, and my caller ID got blocked to prevent me from getting through without blocking my own #. Seems like they should accept at least as many calls from me as I have gotten from them.

Karen Phillips called and left a voice mail with the reference number 088033. James answered after an automated process. He asked for personal information that gained him access to my student loan information (amounts, holders, etc.) They wanted a method of payment to consolidate my loans but would not take a credit card. After the phone call, I said I needed to talk to a 3rd party, I googled the phone number which people referred to my exact call, reference number and person being the exact same. TBA on if the information provided will be compromised.

National Student Loans and other companies alike are basically submitting your information to the department of education on your behalf and charging you a fee. Don’t do it! It’s a scam. The money you pay them could be going towards paying off your loans.
