Type of a scam Credit Cards
We listed our van for sale on Craigslist. “Dom” from Minnesota wanted to buy the van, site unseen. He became very upset when I would not pay the $25 to run a report from NationalTitleVerification.com. I said come look and then you can get the vin and run yourself. He became upset and demeaning when I offered a car fax. My husband researched this company and realized this was a scam!

I was contacted through OfferUp for the purchase of my vehicle. The Buyer insisted that I use a particular website to purchase a VIN report.
I checked online at the site:
https://vehiclehistory.bja.ojp.gov/
To see if the VIN Checking site was legit and it wasn’t. I explained to the Buyer that I’ll purchase a report but only from a site listed on the gov site.
The continued to contact me through text message that they urgently wanted to purchase the vehicle but I need to use that particular site since.
I politely refused and so far haven’t been contacted since.
They did ask if I checked the site for info on it so I assume they wanted me to navigate to it.
The site is:
