I believe I was just contacted (10:00 AM) by a scam artist. He said he was with Publisher’s Clearing House and I am the newest winner of 2.5 million dollars. It was a twenty minute conversation and I continued to tell him I was skeptical. He was trying to get information from me–which I did not provide. He wanted $3,500.00 as the "registration fee" and that needed to be paid before "the Prize Patrol" would arrive at my door. ~~~ I can provide additional information if you are interested. * **** ** *** ******* ******* ** ***** **** * *** *** **** ***** ****** ** ***** ****** ** ************* ** ***** ******** ~~~~ ************ ********* ** *********** ******** *******

I’ve gotten 15 calls from Publisher’s Clearing House in the last two weeks. They are foreigners: Mike Henry and something Moler. They say they work for the US Treasury Dept. But they are also CEOs. They said in 2019 I had won $5.5 million and 2021 white Mercedes Benz, with 6 months of Geico insurance, which will be delivered on a flatbed truck. They said they’d been looking for me for two years. They said they paid the Better Business Bureau $150,000 to find me. I said the ScamPulse.com doesn’t do that. They said the Better Business Bureau wouldn’t tell me if they were. They said the IRS told them to drop it, but they were determined to find me to give me my money. They want me to go to Walmart and buy a $500 Vanilla Card. The card is for the people who will come. I said I don’t have $500, so they said they would pay $200, so all I would have to pay is $300. I’m also supposed to get $100,000 cash in a locked briefcase. They said they would not scam me out of money as they believe in the Lord Jesus Christ who died to deliver us from our sins and they go to church every Sunday. They said they could see that I had been scammed before. I told them they are the scammers.

He said it wouldn’t cost us anything but I should buy a $100 Vanilla Gift card to give to the lawyer when he came to the house to register my winnings with the government. He asked if I wanted it kept confidential or put on the news. He kept saying: "this is no joke. how does it feel to win a million dollars, this is for real. this is not a scam. stop wasting my time. I want the number off the card". He told me to buy the card from Family Dollar Store or Walgreens. He offered to say on the phone while I went to get the card. I said it’s a landline, then he wanted to know how long it would take to get the card and how many miles to the Dollar Store. He asked that 3x. 12/27/20 Received a [home] call from a man (foreign accent) introducing himself as "George Freeman" informing I had won an enormous PCH jackpot. I did NOT release any personal info although he was trying to get me to do so. Told me Monday 12/28 was going to be a BIG day for me and to stay by the phone. I refused to give any additional information citing I was skeptical. He assured me it was "real and that no one could mess it up for me" but we needed to be on the same [secret] page. (In this conversation he said a lot of other stuff including he was working with the FBI to secure my safety. Told me I had two (2) options to claim my prize – 1) bank info for [faster] electronic transfer; and 2) UPS delivery to my home by PCH Team and FBI agent. He insisted option #1 was definitely better. I told him I refused until I could verify his identity on Monday a.m. That’s when he warned me about calling PCH saying if I did, I definitely open myself to be swindled by “fake” PCH employees.

(On Monday, 12/28, I emailed PCH and response I got confirmed contact by Mr. Freeman was a fraud.)

1/1/21 – Received another [home] call from same man today at 11:05 am ET reminding me his name was "George Cooper" and that we somehow missed each other on 12/28 and he was calling to reconnect so I could claim my winnings. (My 2nd Place Publisher’s Clearing House Prize is: $3.8 million + $958,000 Cash Bonus + 2021 "Pearl Red" Mercedes Benz.) He re-iterated he has been with PCH for 17 years and his Agent ID# is USA-4990. Mr. Cooper gave his phone number as 1-876-856-9854 and assured me PCH would not employ him for 17 years if he was not the real deal. Anyway, he told me to “relax my brain,” enjoy New Year’s Day and he would get everything ready for me on Monday, 1/4/21, re-stating this was going to be a BIG day for me and no one can mess it up as long as we’re on “a two-lane road” of sharing information. Conversation was recorded and I have no intention of releasing any personal information. I hope to prevent myself or anyone else from being scammed.

I was contacted via phone by a Robert Morningstar claiming that I had been the winner in a random drawing for a runner-up prize in the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes. I was to receive 5K per month for life. Catch was that I first had to send a money order in the amount of $520 to a Willa Stewart, 4710 Middlecoff Road, Apt. B55, Corpus Christi, Tx. 78413, prior to be presented my winnings. I checked the Publishers Clearing House website and they specifically state that winners are never notified by phone nor is any money ever required as a precondition for being awarded a prize. Morningstar provided a phone #573-557-5973 that I was to use to contact him before placing the money order. The personal address I was given for the money order triggered my suspicion that this was indeed a scam. Please follow-up before any other individuals are scammed. I will not return his call. All I had to do was keep this a secret and surprise my husband. He wanted to stay with me the whole time on my cell phone. I told him I did not have one because he called me on my landline. I told him I would get my husbands.

But after it was taking so long he told me to go without the cell phone and he would give me instructions on what to do. I was to purchase two prepaid warm visa vanilla cards for $500 each. When I return home he was to call me or I was to call him and then he would give me further instructions on how to go to Western Union and pick up my $7000. Then after all this was done Steve Harvey and two other name people were coming to my house to award me the 3.5 million and the red Cadillac.

I called the FBI and they said until they have several complaints about this number they won’t investigate. I called the local news station here and they forwarded me this website to fill out this information. I intend to go to the dollar store and other stores here that sell prepaid visas in town in Caldwell Texas to notify them anyone purchasing visa cards to at least say something just in case somebody’s doing this and don’t know better. I played the game hoping that I could figure out something and would love to have these people caught. Waiting on my call. Hope you can get this out. Thank you

I received a text message 11/25/2020 saying I won a prize. I had a feeling this could be a scam because there were some typo-errors like ‘are’ for "or" and "my" for "may". So I talked to a guy name Tony Whiteside (but the guy has an India or indian accent) he said I won 3.5 m dollars, a brand new Lincoln Continental plus $5000.00 a month for life. He instructed me to go to Wallgreens that very minute a buy a certain card and put $600.00 on it and hold on to the card. I told him I don’t have the money and he insisted I send the money thru my bank to them. I told I can’t so he said he’ll talk to Dave Sayer. I’ve seen Dave Sayer on tv and heard his voice. This guy is another Indian guy trying to disguise his voice. I gave up. They’re still calling me but I not answering. I called ScamPulse.com and they said if I won something I shouldn’t have to pay anything.

James Bell badge no. 6601JB, from the Better Business Bureau called me today saying I had won $6.5 million and an SUV in the Publisher’s Clearing House Sweepstakes. He said I needed to pay an insurance fee on the money. He told me to mail a money order for $838 to Vera Green at 34 N Keytstone, Upper Darby, PA 19082. He asked if I lived alone, if I wanted to keep it private, and what I would do with the money. He mentioned prayers, blessings and God. He said three people: Robert Hill, Susan White, and John Jackson, would be coming to my door on December 7th. I could hear a lot of noise in the background. He said a lot of people work here at PCH. He said I would get $500,000 on April 15th in the Set for Life promotion. He asked if I was properly dressed, because he wanted me to turn the camera on my computer so he could see me. He told me I could buy the money order at the post office, walmart or walgreens. I said I had friends at the post office. He told me not to tell them where I was sending the money. He’s been calling all morning. He has a slight accent, but sounds more American than others. He kept calling me "Sweetie". He said he was a different Publisher’s Clearing House than the one in NY. He didn’t want me to check it out. I said you never have to pay to win that’s what eveybody says. He said people don’t know what they’re talking about, and to trust him. He said the check would be written against Bank of America and the insurance was through Allstate. He said he was calling from Jamaica, FL.

Gentlemen called by the name of Peter Anderson. He said that he randomly picked my phone number and asked if I’d like to have 2.5 million dollars, plus a new GMC pickup truck. He stated that the prize patrol was in Waynesburg, Kentucky. All I had to do was go to the General Dollar Store and purchase a $125 card to ok my winnings. He eventually brought the price down to $25. He was very persistent and nice, but I knew it had to be a scam. He begged me to find a ride to the store once he realized I was elderly and couldn’t drive. He asked lots of personal questions, and that’s when I hung up.

I received a call from a man with a heavy accent claiming to be from Publishers Clearing House, stating I had won 2.5 million dollars, a brand new 2020 Mercedes, and $1000 a week for life. He then asked me how I felt to have won, to which I questioned the validity of the call. He asked me to grab a pen and paper to write down his "badge number" and my "confirmation number". He then reiterated all of the winnings, gave me his name, Mr. Jim White, his badge number 1130USA, and a confirmation number. At this point I had looked up the area code of the call and found it was from Jamaica. When I asked him why his area code was from Jamaica, and what website could I visit to verify his ID. He hung up. I called back, and asked how to verify his info, he ask me to go to a CVS and make purchases to verify our prizes, at which point we called him out as a scammer, he told us F you, and hung up again.

They would escort me to the bank and give me the check and I would give the driver $497 as his reward. Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

He called and said he was from publisher’s clearing house. He then asked if I had ever entered that sweepstakes. I said yes and he asked me the name that I used to sign up. At first I gave him the name of my dead grandfather. He said that he was calling to let me know I had won a large sum of money. He then started asking questions like how do deal about becoming a winner of the sweepstakes? Good I told him. After a couple more like that he asked for the pronunciation of my name. So this time I made up a completely different fake name. He put me on hold, then he came back and said he had an important fax come in he had to deal with and instead of keeping me on hold for a long time he would hang up and call me back. When he called me back he said that it was 5.9 million dollars that I had won. He then started up with the fake interview questions again " what are you planning to do with the money?" "This is enough money you will never have to work again!" He then asked me who I banked with. I told him the bank name and he must have figured a little about where I am from the area code and he started naming some of the branches open in the town I was in. Then he asked me if I had ever used a gift card before. I said yeah, Amazon. "For how much?" $5. He then switched back to my bank account. "How much money is available in your count today?" I say – not very much, tomorrow is pay day for me and I am pretty broke right now. He then asked my job. I told him I was on disability. He then says "You know that after winning this money you will not be eligible to collect social security anymore. (Which I believe is true because that is a need based program, if I actually had 5.9 million dollars I would have no need for the help anymore. So now he asks me if I had anyone in my life that would loan me $1,000 if I needed it, my parents maybe. I told him yeah, my parents would loan me that much if I needed it. He says we’ll you will be able to pay them back twice that after the money is available for you to withdraw. He then asked me how long it would take to get that. I was in my car and had told him that already so I told him it would take me an hour to get back home and get that. He then said something really strange. He asked if I could lie to my parents about what I needed the money for, saying that my business is my business and that theirs is theirs. Then saying "and I want it to be a surprise when you have twice their money back and you can tell them you won 5.9 million. Then fake questions again "how will your parents feel knowing their son is a millionaire? So he tells me he will call back in an hour after I get that money. While waiting I pick my wife up from work and tell her the whole scheme and what he has been saying to me. She immediately points out it’s a scam and I agree with her. I tell her he’s calling back soon and we come up with this. When he calls back and asks if I have the money yet I told him I didn’t have to borrow it from my parents because my wife had just cashed her check and she gave me the money. She wants to talk to you really quick though and I hand her the phone. He gets on with her and says "how does it feel to know that he just won 5.9 million dollars? You can both retire now! So my wife says " look we are not stupid we know this is a scam, next you’ll be asking for his bank information and account number so you can steal it. He says " no we are not a scam, I am not asking for any personal information from him. So see, he is protected this is all good. Ok, so how do we get the 5.9 mill then. "Have you ever used gift cards?" He asks, " He needs to take the $1,000 you gave him and buy a gift card. We will use this gift card to prove that he has the capability to withdraw a large amount of money. We want to be sure that he can take the funds out of the bank as soon as it is available today……. "Ok, well we’re not doing that so goodbye." Then hung up on him. One of the things that helped us spot it was no good was how he didn’t want me to tell my parents the truth about why I needed the money, wanting it to be a surprise for them to find out I was rich!!

Scammer stated that his name was Jeffrey Douglas and he was with PCH badge #3019 in Westport, AL. He wanted to know if I had received a package thru ups with information about my winning the PCH contest and that they would be arriving within an hour and half at my home to deliver my winnings. I knew it was a scam but I played along to see what the punchline was. I had won 3.5 million dollars, but because I was over 50 the company would pay 98% of the taxes, I would only be responsible for the other 2%. So I would need to go to Walmart and that is when I was going to stop him to let him know that I was onto him, but before I could get the words out of my mouth he hung up. Now, the phone number and name he gave me. The number came up as “No caller ID” on my phone. He gave me all that info when I ask him that if he was with PCH why it came up with no phone number. Please let everyone know.

The caller stated she had won 3.2 million dollars and a new car. All she had to do was go to Walgreens and buy a $400 EB (?) card. Call the number back and let them know she had the $400 card. Once she tells them she has the $400 card they will come to the house and pick up the card. They would then notify Publishers Clearing House and they would come with the prizes. This is crazy having to give someone a $400 card before receiving the cards. Scamming a 97 year old woman is disgraceful!!!! Fortunately she calls me when this happens so I can report it for her or let her know if it is legit. I called the number and they told me the same thing to go get the $400 card and call us! Received a call from 876-298-1959 from a supposed Mr. David Johnson with Publisher Clearing House saying I had won 2.5million

dollars and a mercedes. It was believable because I enter Publisher’s Clearing House prize entries. He was very professional, going

through what I had won, how I wish to receive the prize from their departure prize patrol. He asked a lot of personal questions but he

said I could pass on anything I did not care to answer. I passed on bank questions, owning home, annuities, etc.

He is very believable and leaves no stone unturned. Then the final statement is: You will need to purchase a $200 gold stamp

to prove that you are who you say you are and want to win. He goes through a very step by step process before the final "pay this amount".

He wanted to know if I am retired or still pay taxes. I did answer the last question for which I’m sorry. I suppose he can trace my social security number for which I am fearful. This is a very professional scam and believable. Please check out the number I gave you on my caller I.D. Thank you.

I received a phone call from UNKNOWN this afternoon. The man indicated he was in Bloomington, IL and wanted to know how far away I lived from there. He gave his name as Frank Willis and said he was an agent for Publishers Clearinghouse. He said his ID was FW4001PCH. (He had asked me write down all of this information including today’s date and time of phone call). He said I’d won 2 place in PCH contest and the check would be delivered to me by UPS. Their attorney is Mary Walker. She would be handing me the check and the keys to a new Mercedes. The check # is 00719676000; the package # 5523655236; the confirmation # 9162370204. He said his company is approved by BBB, Homeland Security, and Chambers of Commerce. He said there would be a Delivery’s Invitation that required an ID from me such as a driver’s license and I would also need to write a check and photograph this check which was to be in the amount of $199.99. At this point I disconnected.

I will say that for an American-sounding name, Frank Willis had a peculiar accent. Not an accent I could recognize.

He said do not let anybody know what’s going on. I began mailing certified checks overnight express thrugh the US Post office and FedEx to Kenneth Williams, 79 Radar Circle Rd, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870. I sent $36,131. He said Mr. Williams was associated with the Certified Merchant Bank. He was collecing the money and would release the prize for delivery. He said the fees were to cover the costs of storing and delivering the car as well as its’ title, and auto insurance for a year. I told him if it were a scam, I would file a complaint with the government. He said I couldn’t do that as he has taken all legal steps. Originally, he said I would only have to pay $2,500 to get it. I paid, On May 26th he said he would $11,000 for fees to get the money. He was calling 3x a day. On June 4th, I paid $9500. He asked me for my Walmart credit card to buy three Android Galaxy phones, when I received the phones I mailed the phones onto NC. Then he ordered 9 more, which Walmart canceled. After paying them the $36,000, on June 18th he said he needed an additional $25,000.00. I said no. He said he’d been doing this for 15 years. I gave him my bank routing number and bank account number. I also gave him my Discover Card number because he said he would pay off that credit card, instead he took out a large advance. On June 19th, he called 17x. I have filed a police report, and reports with fraud department at Key Bank, my CPA, the FBI, Inspector General, OAG, LIfelock, US Senate Committee on aging, and FTC. I have taken my mothers phone this morning and gotten several calls from them trying to speak to my mother. They then say she won a car, I told them she can’t drive and does not need a car. She she won something just mail it as they already know her address. They tell me they are unable to mail it without paying for postage which is why they want $1.99. I have told them repeatedly that if she needs to pay a penny, then we are not interested. I control her accounts for this reason. They want my mother to tell them again to not call her back. I was contacted by a man who said he was representing Publishers Clearing House and I had won 2nd place in their sweepstakes. Since I had entered the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes, I thought it was a possibility that I had won. He said they would be coming to my house today to bring a cashiers check for 1.5 million dollars and a 2020 Mercedes. Sounded good to me until he said I needed to have a claimer card in my possession. I would need to go to Walgreen’s and buy a Ebay gift card. That is when I knew something was not right! I asked how much and he said $350.00. I told him I would not do that so he gave me a phone number to call to verify that this was legitimate. That is when I looked up the publishers house website and it said they would never ask for money or a gift card. When they called back, I told them I knew it was a scam. He still insisted it was not but I hung up. Phone numbers used 916-237-0204 and 876-544-2545 Kingston, Surrey county, Jamaica

Received a call from recording stating I had won 2.5 million dollars in a powerball sweepstakes from publishers clearing house and a Mercedes Benz from a sweepstakes that started in 2002. they stated a phone number to call to claim my prize which would be delivered the next day. I called and a Abriam Johnson 702-746-3223 out of Vegas, Nevada he answered and congratulated me on winning the 2002 sweepstakes and told me that i had it pay the tax for the prize $3,000 with dollar store. he asked me if i could afford the tax, i played along and said certainly isn’t it better a cashiers check but he was adamant that it had to be a 1 vanilla prepaid visa cards 6 in total each $500 and dont tell anyone because someone might follow me home from the store an rob me.

i would have to go to several dollar stores to purchase them. the store only allows 2/ $500.00 cards for purchase. I was to call him back after i purchased them at the number i had called. he asked how long it would take me i stalled and said my husband wasn’t home from work yet.

so it would be at least an hour til i could use his car but as soon as i purchased them i would call him back. he said i needed to do it fast because they would deliver car and money to me tomorrow at my home and i was to turn over the cards to the driver , i said yea sure i’ll call as soon as I’m done. i asked how i was to receive my winnings and he said cash, so i said you better get a real big suitcase . so within my hour stall i typed up this scam for all to see an i have no intention of answering my phone. i didn’t give my address and he sure had a heavy African accent. i hope the poor fool doesn’t wait too long for my call back lol.

I received call on my cell phone. "James Stanguard" stated I won $985,000 and a 2015 Mercedes Benz. He said that two U.S. Marshalls and an attorney with a driver (named "Miller") would be at my house in 3 hours.

He advised me to call a number with an 876 area code. This number connected me to manager named "Albert Lopez." He asked how close I was to a grocery store in order to obtain a registration card. He said 99% of all the taxes were already paid, and I just needed to pay the rest.

I told "Albert Lopez" I might call the police and report this as a scam. He said he was already taking money out of my account as we spoke.

I called information to get the phone number for Publishers Clearing House. When I relayed the area code to the operator, she indicated that area code is for Jamaica.

Nothing has come out of my bank account.
