First received a call stating there is a case against you you must call to verify the criminal case against you. When you call a foreign person answers the phone and says social security administration lol yea no. He said his name was Alfred Watson I have him my name which was fake Jack Meoff and he literally asked me to spell the last name never got what I was doing. He asked for my social number so that’s where the fun stopped I asked him if he thought ppl were that stupid to give their info to him and he hung up. He also said it was a recorded call. I hope it was 🙂

I received a phone call from what sounded like a "robo call" on 3/3/2021 at 2:57 p.m. The message advised me that my social security number had been compromised and to ple[censored]d for an operator. In hindsight, I wish I would have so I could provide more information. I looked up the phone number (Google) and it is registered to a person in Berea, Ohio. I did call the number back in hopes of getting someone’s name, unfortunately I received voicemail. The person was male, and I don’t believe the language was English, male spoke very quickly and I disconnected the call. The phone number is 440-623-2187.

I got a call this morning from an automated call center and the man told me there was suspicious activity under my SSN including drug trafficking and a possible murder. He wanted to know my bank information and how many cars I owned, if I had a licence and pretty much everything under the sun. He definitely tried to sound official by having me write down my "case number" his "id number" and a warrant number. I wasted a good 15 minutes of his time before I broke character.

There is an automated system that claims they’re a part of the social security administration. Then you are connected with a representative. The "representative" then asks whom they are speaking with but never gives a name as to who they are or who they are calling for.The call was about suspicious use of social security number and possible jail time if the call is not taken. I asked the man who he was and he first didn’t want to mention his name. But then he came up with the name "David Morrison" a detective. I asked for an address, telephone number and department. Which he was not able to provide. Once he knew I was on to him he started threatening my life and claiming to cut my head off and making threats of violent sex acts.

He said I was under Investigation and he would put my arrest on hold if I complied with the EFSS (?) program. He then had me stay in the line with him while I went to several stores to buy gift cards in order to save the money in my account so that it wouldn’t be stolen. After I bought 15 gift cards he had me go home and turn my phone off so “they” couldn’t contact me and get more information.

The call came from Nixa, MO and left a VM stating that I should disregard work and settle my matter immediately, concerning charges pending against me.

I called back for a good laugh. The person on the other line (indian accent) claimed that the call was coming from the Social Security Administration and needed to confirm my identity so they could help resolve my charges. Caller asked for Name, DOB, and SS#…… lol.

Gave them phony data and they claimed that they could see robbery, assault, and drug charges against me in Texas and that I was going to be turned into the FBI. Before they read the charges I was told to not interrupt and that I would get a chance to defend myself after the charges were listed. Oh, and also something about leaving my blood and saliva in an abandoned car full of cocaine. They really go all out.

Obviously just an identity theft scam, probably just trying to get peoples socials and confirm their info so they can later make calls trying to get your bank info as well.

Now if I don’t hear a call from you we will have to issue an arrest warrant under your name and get you arrested, so get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you.

I called the number back (205-919-4503) from a landline and a woman answered and I explained that I received a phone call from her number stating that they were from the SS office. She denied making the call and said that she uses that phone for everything. I told her that I would report the call to the ScamPulse.com and that she should contact her cell provider. She did say that her cell provider is At&t.

I answered a call from my area code that was a scam. A male with a foreign accent said he was with the Social Security Administration. He asked me if I had been contacted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations? I told him no. He said that there was a car accident that involved criminal activity and my Social Security number was associated with it. In order to clear it up he was going to put me through to his supervisor. He put me on hold then he was the one that came back on but claimed to be the supervisor. He asked me to confirm the last 4 of my social security number, and my zip code. He already had my name. I gave him the last 4 numbers and my zip. Then it just didn’t seem right so I hung up and called the ScamPulse.com who told me it was a scam.

Received a phone call that on my caller ID said it was the Better Business Bureau. When I answered the phone and automated message said that this was the Social Security administration, my Social Security number had been suspended, and both the FBI and the Social Security ministration were involved in a court case with me. I was instructed to hit the number one key to get more information. Since this sounded strange, I played along and hit the number one. I was put through to a gentleman with an Indian accent by the name of Shaun White. He asked for my name to ask who he was speaking to. I refuse to provide him with my name and I asked for a return phone number so I could call them back. He provided me with the following phone number 800-277-1213. I googled the Social Security Administration and the phone was slightly off 800-772-1213. I decided to call the number back they had originally called on listed as the BBB. When I spoke to an individual at the BBB, she asked what number I was called on 850 429 0503. She informed me that was a rollover number for the ScamPulse.com and not used for call outs. She then asked me to report this to the ScamPulse.com scam track link off the ScamPulse.com website.

I received a call from a potential spam because they left a voicemail. Only half of it recorded since it was a tapped message, but they said they needed my signature. If I did not give it to them they would then have to serve me at the local sheriff’s department at which point law enforcement and media would be involved. If I failed to appear at the sheriff’s department, this case would be prosecuted without me and my benefits would be suspended. For any questions prior to the arrival of documents, you have one last chance to contact our Department of Social Security Administration. The number is 681-242-4478. Greetings,

I received a voicemail from an automated message stating that if i don’t call this number back that legal action would be taken against me. When I called the number a man with a foreign accent answered and said "hello social security administration. can i help you?" I told him that you his office must have just called me and left me a voicemail. He asked for my name, i gave it to him, then he asked for my social security number, i would not give that to him, but I gave him my phone number and told him to look it up in his system. There were clearly other people on the phone talking to others in the background. This person then told me that there has been illegal activity done by me in the state of Texas and they are going to freeze my social security account if I don’t "take action now." I told him that he was full of s*** and was a scam artist and that I would be sending the phone number to the authorities. Please warn others about this type of scam so that they do not give their social security number to bad actors over the phone or even attempt to pay bad actors to stop the action taken against their social security account.

The line was quite noisy with static which is why I was suspecting from the start. But I went forward as I’ve just started receiving unemployment from WA State and was concerned that if this was real it could impact my benefits. The person on the phone said she was: Officer Sophia James Badge # 37894 of the S.S. Administration. When I later asked her location she said S.S. HQ in Baltimore MD. I was told that this call was being recorded for use by three agencies: Federal Trade Commission, the Better Business Bureau and the Financial Crime Enforcement Network. This also seemed odd but I went ahead as I was told there was a warrant out for my arrest and that I was being investigated. Several times I stopped to ask if I should be getting representation (like speaking with a lawyer) as I had never been notified of either the fraud nor any criminal activity being associated with me and I have not committed any crime. When I still thought this might be more legit I noted that WA state Unemployment office is having thousands of fraudulent claims and I wondered if this issue might be related to my UEI. I was given this number as a record number (not sure for which record, she was talking quickly and I was trying to write it all down): 02954698. I was told that according to the local sheriff there were two houses where criminal drug trafficking was taking place and that the purchase of these homes was associated with my SS# as were several bank accounts and money laundering including 20K transfer of funds to Mexico. Was I familiar with these addresses: 1245 E. 16th Ave El Paso Tx and 7609 Oscent Ave El Paso Tx. I answered no & that I’ve never been to that part of Texas, have no bank account at the 5 banks she asked me about, haven’t recently lost a credit/debit, ss card or wallet, don’t use drugs nor drink. I again asked her questions to ascertain the legitimacy of the call. She said that Marshalls had all ready given all my information and that I needed to answer true answers now in order for my S.S.# to not be seized. She then asked me for all my addresses. I said I was in the process of changing one. I asked her to give the addresses and she said I had to give them. I went along and gave all three of my addresses (mailing, former residence, current residence) naming my current one as current. (Of everything I said, I’m most concerned that they have this info about my residential address and UE insurance). Her tone became more threatening when I said I’d like more information and to see what I need to do on my end before answering further. So we went on a bit further… She said "You sound like an innocent person. We already have all your information. We need your true answers. You sound honest.. if your info does not match I cannot help you further. You try to give your best. Then we’ll submit it in the courthouse. We are making sure you’re not the criminal." She asked how many cars or trucks I had. I said two. She asked what class of drivers’ lic Regular or commercial. I answered. She demanded I give the names of my banks. I said no. She hung up.

On August 5th, 2020 I received a call that was a recording saying that it was the social security administration as my ss number was being fraudulently used in South Texas as to press 1 to give them information regarding the case. I immediately hung up the phone and told my elderly mother that I was glad she didn’t answer the phone. The caller id was a local number and has a person’s name as well.

1st I got a recorded call saying my SSN has been used in fraudulent activity. Sounded legit. And to call the number back.

She answered as SSAdmin and asked me to verify the last four digits of my SSN.

Then she said 300lbs of cocaine had been found along the Texas Border with all my credit cards and sited all my current cards open. Said money laundering was being wired through accounts opened in my name. I asked how come I didnt see it on any of it happening. She gave some kind of good enough answer. She remained quite calm and direct. And I could hear other people around her on the phone. Sounded like a big office.

I asked how I knew if this isnt a scam, and she said I could take down her ID and name. "Jennifer Miller SSA 197432

I googled this and said, "You are a scam," and she hung up.

Automated answer machine stated that illegal activity was reported on my Social Security. Then I was asked to stay on the line. Then a male with and Hindu accent answered the call and asked me for my name. I then gave him my name and then he stated that illegal activity was noticed using my social security number. He then asked if I have been contacted by the FBI OR DEA. He the asked me to verify my social security number. I then told him I could not share that with him over the phone and he immediately hung up. Tried calling the number back and after a few rings the call went straight to voice mail. Please be careful and don’t provide anyone with your social security number.

The person called saying that they were from the Social Security Administration and did I set up an account recently and would I answer questions for him. Because I had recently set up an account, I asked him for a number to call him back. At this point, he hung up on me. He called AGAIN today and said the same thing. I told him he had already called me before and again he hung up. He called me on my cell phone number which I seldom give out. I do not think this was a random call.
