While working on my personal computer, my computer locked up and directed me to contact Apple Support at 888-351-1474. I call the number and was connected with a person who identified self as an Apple employee. Person noted that my computer was compromised and that I would need to purchase a plan for $685.00 in order to have lifetime service. Person requested my personal info including bank account and routing info. When I questioned this person re: his validity he became upset and stated "your mind it not working clearly". I allowed him to continue with his info and again questioned validity prior to providing my personal bank info. Again, he became upset with me. I stated I would not go through with the transaction. Person then told me my computer would never be accessible again unless I purchased this tech support. Again, I denied and he hung up. My computer is working just fine and I have had no further issues.

Another person got on the line and he told me I needed to open my banking app and he would get me a Venmo Securoty wallet to keep my money safe from these Russian Hackers. I asked if I could just go to the Apple store and have them help me with this issue because I was not comfortable doing what he was asking. He kept telling me I needed to act quickly
before I ended up with major problems. He told me neither the Apple store or TMobile would be able to help me I asked him if he worked for Apple he said yes I was panicked by the notice I received on my phone but thankfully I was not feeling confident in what these people were saying to me and did not open any of my apps for them or move money which I now realize they would now have I worry about someone else believing them and taking a huge loss
I disconnected my phone call and deleted the app they asked me to download I am still so nervous and worried about what happened and what could have happened I am positive that these people are very successful in what they are doing. Stealing peoples money and personal information and still worry that I may be at risk still just by downloading the app and speaking with them for the time I did Everyday I check all my accounts hoping nothing has been taken and worry they might have gotten some info from me and my phone that will haunt and hurt me for years I am still not confident that I will not be dealing with some kind of fallout from this experience

After getting a new ATT router, we needed to reconfigure our Echo Dot (Alexa) to work with the router. I clicked on what looked like an Amazon support link and a popup then said tech support would call and asked for phone number. Scammer tech called and talked me into giving access to computer. He asked about virus software and showed a screen of things on my computer that were compromised. I didn’t realize I had been scammed until he asked for credit card to pay for virus protection. At that point I shut down. Even though we changed passwords, our Amazon account was hacked and gift cards ordered. We managed to get that order cancelled and changed credit cards. Later we found more gift cards in our Amazon cart but removed them in time. The Amazon cards in the cart were being directed to an e-mail address [email protected] Hacker had a middle eastern accent, not uncommon for tech support, put claimed a last name like Williams. Haven’t lost money yet, but attempts keep coming.

They say they have to cancel my Norton security on my computer subscription or I will be charge. They do it by taking over your computer. They pull some information and it show the last 4 numbers and the expiration date of a credit card but no name on the card. And if it’s not right you put your credit card number and they say they would cancel it and give you a refund of $230.

A year ago I turned on my computer and this loud siren appeared, call this number and we can take it off and provide you further protection (at 30.00 per month. They wanted a check in payment which I would not give them. I did give them a credit card. Next they called me at least 4 times a day saying they have to close the service and want to refund my money. Of course all I have to do is provide a routing number so they can deposit it directly-no way. Now they are still calling to renew my subscription, I tell them I do not want it so cancel my subscription. They tell me that in order to cancel I have to allow access to my computer-no way I say. OK he says then you will be charged 30.00 per month. I tell them I will call Chase and deny the charge. So far I have changed all my credit cards, put a fraud alert on my Experian account, changed all my passwords. I would like this snake to return to the hole he came from. I was at home working with my computer. Someone cut in online informing me that my computer signaled his computer that there were some elements not working correctly. I listened as he described what was not functioning well and recommended ways he could fix them. I remained at my computer making changed and doing what he asked me to do. He stated that he was adding an anti-virus function among other things, including ways to make it run faster. Afterwards, he said that the price for 5 years would be about $500 and for lifetime $900. I ended up using my credit card, as he made it sound attractive and beneficial. The next day he called back, asked how it was working, and I told him satisfactorily, although it didn’t seem any different. He next explained that the equipment and adjustments he had sold me were not working and offered to return my money. I asked him to put it back on my credit card and he said that the company could only put it back into my bank account. I continued to stay on the phone and he led me into pulling up all my bank accounts. Suddenly, I realized that the screen was showing all my banking information and I thought he might be planning fraud. I went directly to the bank and explained what had happened and had my accounts frozen and new ones opened. I also took my computer to Office Depot and the man couldn’t justify exactly what had happened, but he did make a few adjustments.

Received a message on my computer that my computer was locked and to NOT turn off my computer but to call this number: 1-866-217-8835 for help. When I called the number an individual answered that did not speak good English, so I hung up and called back and received another rep that I could not understand very well. Since then – about five days ago – they have called my home telephone several times every day and tell me to call this number – 1-855-792-7928. My daughter called this number and asked for the company name and the individual said "Global Technologies LLC" and became angered when she said she was turning them into the ScamPulse.com and also refused to remove our number from their call list, "since she was turning them in to the ScamPulse.com." This sounds very much like a scam and I hope you can stop them from victimizing anyone else and maybe getting financial assistance from anyone who is unsuspecting.

On 5/8/17, I contracted a computer virus when downloading an upgrade to flash player. It was an “Adware” threat, and simultaneously a hacker took over my computer. They said they were tech support and that I needed the following: optimization, remove Trojans, speed up system, smtp settings update, repair drives, install security and popup blocker, and that I needed to buy an “anti hacking kit” (which I did not do). They performed all of this work while I was watching them do it remotely on my laptop screen. But before they did the work, they asked me for a credit card number to pay for “free tech support for 5 years and cover 5 devices at $299”. I was also told I could add more devices at any time. They gave me a toll free number to call if I had any issues and to add devices – 1-844-880-3699. I agreed to the $299 and paid via PayPal so they could not have my credit card number. I have a MacBook and use Safari so I was concerned that I may have been hacked but at the time it all happened so fast I just didn’t respond quickly enough to deny their request and just shut down my computer before I had a chance to digest this fiasco! First time this ever happened to me and lesson learned. Don’t click on anything!
After a few weeks I reported this to my bank because I was concerned I may have been hacked. I didn’t have much information to give them so they could track down the fraud attempt and ultimately credit my credit card account so I directed them to cancel the "fraud" report. I called the hacker’s “billing department” number requesting to cancel their service and get a refund. The man who answered the phone only said hello, no company name, and asked for my customer id number (WH-05-2017-45) and phone number. He said “just wait” and put me on hold. He then said he was not able to pull up the account and asked for my email address. Then asked again for my customer id number. He said just wait and put me on hold again. Then he came back on and said the billing team will call you back in half an hour. They never called me back and I had a very strong feeling they wouldn’t because they have no company name and I believe they are just a bunch of hackers in India.
I contacted Apple and asked if they contracted out to any firms to fix malware issues and was told absolutely not. Apple then proceeded to check my system to ensure it was safe and right now it is. I believe the hackers are in a foreign country but I only ever spoke to one person both times I was in contact with them – 5/8/17 and again on 5/27. The man spoke with a Pakistani Indian accent. I never received his name nor a company name and I asked! On my PayPal account the payee information appears as follows: Recipient – Jayati Dhingra, [email protected]
The $299 charge via PayPal to my credit card has been paid by me. At this point, I really don’t think my bank or anyone else can do anything since there is no other information to go on. I am afraid to call the only other number they provided and that is the number 402-935-7733 that appears on my credit card statement.

The scammer called my mobile phone claiming to have identified computer issues and requested that I give him control of my computer. I wasn’t on my computer when he called. My mother identified the caller’s voice when I put him on speaker phone based on her experience with receiving the same type of phone call. He goes by the name of "Sam", has a heavy foreign accent, maybe an indian accent. He called her a couple of months ago, unfortunately she fell for it and gave him access to her computer and he almost had her convinced to wire him $250-$450 via Western Union. She had to close her bank accounts and reopen new ones after both of her banks informed her of suspicious activity. Fortunately for her, the banks caught the activity and froze her accounts.

They have called me several times. They say they that there has been a security breach involving my internet IP address. I told them not to call !E anymore, to take my name off the list, I even told them I do not have a computer or tablet, they are still calling. They need to be stopped and this is the only phone number they have been calling from.

Contacted initially by a caller from tel # (925) 123-4567 who said that they were taken over tech support from a company that I worked with last November that did virus protection work but were put out of business by the FTC as they were actually placing malware on computer. Can’t recall the name of the company but they were supposedly part of a conglomerate that included My PC.The caller initially identified himself but when I asked for his name and name of his company as I wanted to contact the FTC, he hung up. This occurred on Monday September 26.This morning (wed) got a call from a company identified as "tech Support" that claimed it had taken over the business from the company as the "BBB" has shut them down for not providing the support promised.I told them about the call on Monday and they checked the number and said it might originate in Russia.I set up an appointment for tonight but grew suspicious of the BBB "shutting" them down.Tried to call this number: 561-429-7388 but it was Majic Jack account with full or no mailbox. Caller at this number was named Dylan, Called local BBB and confirmed that this was not something they did. (note: were suppose to call me back

This person had a foreign accent and when I asked what information they had received they started laughing and hung up. I gave them no information. My 91 year old grandmother told me that she got a popup on her computer claiming her computer had a virus and she was not able to click on anything further until she clicked through the questions on the popups. She said that someone named "VK" contacted her and got her to pay $600 with her VISA card for tech support from them to clean up her computer and for 365 days of service. I am not sure if they contacted her by phone or via the computer. I called them back for her to see about a refund and they said they would only refund $150.00. It was a middle eastern man who answered, who said his name was "TeeJay". "TeeJay" made me send him a confirmation email saying that we agreed upon a $150.00 refund and that the amount would not be disputed any further. I sent the email from her email address as a reply to the receipt they had sent her for the $600.00 charge. I feel like this is not a real company. They downloaded things onto her computer without her knowledge, and I believe they took advantage of her because she is 91 and did not fully understand.

Middle Eastern accent. He said i was detected to have computer problems. I acted helpless and played along as this is the (at least) 4th call I’ve had. He seemed to get excited when I acted all nervous about having computer problems. He said, "yes, this is an emergency call, turn on your computer !" Wanted me to open my web browser and type in Www.support.me He had me repeat and spell it. A cell phone number came up as : Cell Phone NY 1-516-635-4085. I told the caller to never call me again. I have reported this to the Do Not Call Registry as well.

Person calls saying they are from tech support, and your computer is sending them messages, you need to boot up and hook them up remotely to get the issue fixed. Of course that would open your computer up for all info to be stripped.
They call once or twice a week. Being on the no call list doesn’t matter, you cannot report them as its from a different number everytime.

I never give out this info. I don’t recommend giving out this info to anyone ever. It’s just like giving them your password.
My Wife has been called twice today and over the last 6 months about 10 more times.
